Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Electoral College

If you've ever wondered if the Electoral college should be replaced for Presidential elections, why it was instituted to begin with or if it reduces the power of your vote, you should read this article. And if you think the 2000 election was stolen, you really need to read this. Good info that every American voter should know.

I'm glad it's in place...

Otherwise, the yanks in NYC, Taxachusetts, and the People's Republic of Kalifornia would run our country...and...

Then I'd have to move somewhere...and that would suck.

I read it twice ,
and as much as the author rambles and postulates I couldn't make a damned bit of sense out of it . No , I don't believe Bush stole the 2000 election , but I'll never believe that "one state one vote" isn't the right way to go . Under that system the people would be truly and fairly represented . Win the state , move on to the next state . Politicians would finally have to campaign in every state , not just the electoral vote rich ones . Win 33 of 50 states and I'll call you Mr. President .

As I understood it Kevin1, the Electoral college was designed to prevent the majority from pushing a minority around and vice versa. Changing it to one vote per state would marginalize states with higher population bases and inordinately punish voters in a higher population state. As it works out now, you notice the "swing" states are mostly smaller midwestern states which pretty much confirms the validity of this design. Just my .02 FWIW.
