Political rant {Take your turn at the microphone} ...PG-13 please...
<flips switch on PA, taps microphone on podium>
Hello everyone.... I wanted to express my viewpoints and ask for others to step up as well. It should be very easy to see where I stand on issues, when all you have to do is take a look at the back window of my pickup truck.
Left side: Clear vinyl decal on bottom saying "U.S. Coast Guard Retired"
Middle (sliding window): Clear "PSE Archery" decal
Right side: "Bush/Cheney '04" bumpersticker right beside my NRA decal
Getting into this political wrestling match, I know people view Bush as a dufus and a nimrod. But please, listen, he STILL IS the best man for the job! He is the "lesser of two evils" as the saying goes. With Kerry, you never know his viewpoint, because he flip-flops and changes his tune whichever way the wind blows. Kerry is so liberal and anti-gun, it is downright SCARY!! [&:] I mean, look at yourself... You are on this board, because you are a hunter, outdoorsman, shooter, etc. Do you REALLY think you will be able to continue enjoying going hunting with and going shooting with your nice Remington 700 magnum? How about not just carrying, but even just OWNING a Ruger 9mm? Please look at Kerry's issues and "read-between-the-lines" on where he really stands, before it's too late. You're hunting future and firearm owning future depends on it.
Thank you. .....Next!

Butch, I agree with most of what you said but disagree with the part about Bush being a dufus. A person that graduates from Yale and what ever school he got his masters from is not a dufus. Also a man that achieves the office of President of the United States is not a dufus. In this case he's merely the victim af a democratic press. When Gore was running against Bush, Gore was suppose to be the genious but Gore never graduated from anything but high school. I don't mean to argue that you got to graduate from college to be smart, alot of smart people in this world that didn't finish high school. If you look back and according to the press, all the democratic presidents and candidates are genious's and all the republicans are dufus's. Besides, 90% of the intellectuals that I've met in my life can barely get out of the rain without help. Most write books or software and are unaware of what's happening in the rest of the United states.

I agree that John Kerry is very anti-gun. So far little attention has been paid in the media to John Kerry's voting record. All the media has been doing is zeroing in on Kerry's distinguishing himself from Bush. It isn't like he just popped out of the ground in the last 12 months: he has a track record. From point of view of gun owners, this track record indicates a very clear anti-gun ideology.
You know, we only get two presidential candidates (and only two candidates for most public offices). What would it be like if we had two meal selections at a restaurant? two dress shirt designs to select from? two TV channels? two beers? I bet a lot of people would not be entirely satisfied with either of the selections. So with Bush versus Kerry. Reality is we don't get to have as much diversity in our presidential candidates as we get at McDonalds. But we have to choose an available choice which best suits us. If you want to continue to enjoy your gun ownership you better not go with Kerry.
How much damage can a president do? you might ask. How can the president damage the interests of gun owners without a majority of representatives and senators joining him?
The president appoints supreme court justices who interpret the constitution, specifically the second amendment. I've seen speculation that as many as three US Supreme Court justices may be retiring during the next presidential term. I would rather Bush appoint these justices than Kerry.

Rockytop you put it quite nicely! BUsh stands for the majority of my views politically. He is pro gun, anti abortion, anti-gay marriage, religious, nice, and he sticks to his beliefs. Kerry is just a flip flop wishy washy idiot! How could we vote for him?

I know.... I was meaning that some people consider Bush to be less than intelligent. I personally think he's a great guy. I have the utmost respect for him. The only negative thing I could think of, is he might want to brush up on public speaking - that's all.
In regards to Kerry, you couldn't pay me enough to vote for him! [:@]

Lately Kerry and the left have been b!tching about the Swift Boat guys and how Bush should shut them up. Why doesn't Kerry shut up Michael Moore and Moveon.org? Anyway, they asked the one Swift Boat guy if he would stop if Bush told him to. He said NO WAY. He said this is none of Bush's business. It's between the Swift Boat vets and that sleeze-ball Kerry.
