New York, William Lacy Clay of Missouri, Joseph Crowley of New York,
Elijah Cummings of Maryland, Danny K. Davis of Illinois, Raul
Grijalva of Arizona, Michael M. Honda of California, Eddie Bernice
Johnson of Texas, Brenda Lee of South Carolina, Carolyn Maloney of
New York, Jerrold Nadler and Edolphus Towns of New York -- must pay
for their partisan gall of sending a letter asking U.N. Secretary-
General Kofi Annan to "deploy election observers" across our nation
prior to the November vote.

Why did George Bush agree to this in 90? He signed an agreeement that would allow outside observers.

OSCE-participating [nations] agreed in 1990 to observe elections in one another's countries. The OSCE routinely monitors elections within its 55-state membership, including Europe, Eurasia, Canada and the United States," a State Department spokesman said.

The spokesman said the United States does not have any details on the size and composition of the observers or what countries will provide them.

Don't know Charlie, but if its anything close to what the demmies are wanting the UN to do he needs to be horse-whipped.

From what I've read it's not UN observers but the OSCE that will be observing the elections.

IMO, noone needs to over see anything we do, if we can't handle it, we sure don't need any outside help.

Apparently in the last election we couldn't handle it. We ended up being the laughing stock of the world. The most powerfull nation in the world can't handle their own presidential election. Heck, it came down to a court ruleing.

Maybe having monitors for the election isn't such a bad idea. We then can prove to the UN we really don't need them and we can take care of ourselves.

Ifferd, some of us will disagree with Bush, Powell, etc. from time to time. It happens even if we still support Bush.
