Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Non-Biased Websites

Does anyone know of any websites where they give non-biased information about the political candidates? I want to base my voting decision on facts, not lies and innuendo.

Everything I have found slants to the left or right, depending on which candidate you are looking at. And you can't believe ANY of the political commercials they are running.

I think I probably stand a better chance of finding Jimmy Hoffa's body than a non-biased political web site, but I thought I would give it a try.

The above is the Center for Responsive Politics. You can find out alot of non-partisan stuff in there. Once you studied and looked at all the data and you decide who to vote for, you can go to the website below and buy the stuff to support your choice. Just out of curiosity, chipmunk, why would you even consider a democrat if your a gun owner and a hunter?

While I personally don't hunt or own guns, my husband is an avid hunter and owns many guns. He is also a police officer. I do fish though. And I am interested in conservation/wildlife issues and enjoy the outdoors, therefore, I enjoy this site very much.

There are a number of other issues that I am interested in besides gun control. I am deeply troubled by the downward spiral our education system is in, and the health care issue is another one I have been watching closely.

Also, the outsourcing of American jobs by American companies to foreign soil is an issue I am concerned about.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I am not going to base my vote solely on one issue...

I personally think that all politicians are self serving bungholes, but we have to vote for somebody, so I want to make the best choice for myself and the issues that are important to me. So I at least have the illusion that my vote matters.

Chipmunk

That's quite a bit of chattering and a tad on the cynical side but I know where your at. Good luck with the search. My advice is visit both ends and in the middle. Talk with individuals who should know on both sides as well. Don't believe everything you read. Then use your own intelligent brain and figure it out.
I forget who it was that made the following quote: "Statistic can prove that statistic can prove anything"! Enough said!

I'm in the same boat!!!!! I want to find out the real issues that could affect my life. I'm 26 and this will be the first time I vote. I'll say it.....I'm voting for Bush. Not sure why...I just don't like John Kerry, andI'm not sure why. Before I do vote, I want to make sure I do it the right way. I checked out the website opensetcrets, but that seemed to be all monetary funds. Who cars. I don't care how much money they have or where they get it from, I want to know how they will run the country I live in and will someday raise my children in (no kids at this point). Anyway, my search will continue!

Well, as an educator, I can tell you for sure that the public education system in this country has been dominated by liberals for decades... Liberal professors training teachers, union bound teachers, trial lawyers and the ACLU filing suits at the drop of a hat... all these factors strongly contribute to the state of public education today. I would not look to another liberal to fix it.

I would be concerned about how Kerry is spinning this issue to sound like it's Bush's fault. Companies have always been able to send jobs overseas to enjoy cheap labor and less taxes. If Kerry is so concerned about fixing the "problem," then maybe he should try to do his current job, which is to legislate. Nobody is stopping him from introducing a bill to "punish" companies for outsourcing.
