Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Really proud of Governor!

After the Dems convention Thursday night Greta Van Susteren(sp)was trying to talk with the governor of Kansas,Kathleen Sabelius. She ask how a Democrat was elected governor in a state that is usually Republican and conservative, she said "I got the most votes". Nothing else just left Greta hanging for a moment. Then Greta ask her about Ohio, Sabelius is from there, and she had plenty to say.

If anyone wants a governor, please take ours.[:'(][:'(]

P.S. She is against guns and for "Better living through Taxation"

Aunsaber,
Just goes to show you Greta Van Snooz Job doesn't know the first thing about Kansas history. Kansas has had many Democratic governors over the years, and the previous Governor Graves(R) was about as liberal as they come.

222 you seem very informed with Kansas politics.
Seems like the trend is for Democrats to say they are Repulicans and talk the Republican beliefs just to get elected. It is happening more and more all the time.[:'(][:'(][:'(]
After election they have one idea, raise taxes.
Forget about fiscal responsibility, who needs that.
Governor Sebelius proposed that since some folks got a Federal tax cut they should be able to pay more state taxes.

The offer still stands, does anyone need a governor, I'll even pay the freight--I mean bus ticket.

Aunsaber,
I know a little about it. I lived there the first 20yrs of my life. I was born near Manhattan.

I would trade Governors in a minute. Ours did raise income taxes 3% plus our sales tax. Which is 91/2% now, was 61/2%. Our Governor loves to parole murderers, until some prosecuters found out about the clemencies. He tried to grant clemency to a convicted murdered who is serving his time in the Kansas State Pen. The family members of the victims raised nine kinds of Hell and he backed down.
His latest crusade is to get all of us fat Arkies to lose weight. This one time tub of lard weighed in at a hefty 350+. Found out he was a diabetic, now he's on a personal crusade against fat.
We have two more years of this Buffoon and hopefully we elect someone with at least some integrity.
Last but not least he got his uglyassed wife elected to the Arkansas Outdoor Hall of Fame. She rode a jet ski down the Arkansas River. Whooooopie

Jim, it doesn't look like I'll be moving to Arkansas anytime soon.
I guess politicians are getting to be all the same. (more so than in the past)With any luck we'll both be rid of our Governors in two years.

I had a Grandma that lived north of Conway but shes been gone for years, I haven't been in Arkansas since 1961.

Recent history in TN shows that sometimes you can't tell by party... We re-elected a Republican Governor in '98 who had always been against a state income tax. Just after re-election, he came out in favor of one, we have a 2 term limit. It was interesting who, on both sides of the isle, came down on either side. The main legislative opponents of the income tax were Republican Women, & some prominent Dems joined in against the tax. Some of the Republican leadership came in on the pro-tax side. With help from Nashville Radio talk-show hosts, we fought & won several times against this tax.

In 2002, a socially liberal/fiscally conservative (seeming) Democrat was elected. In his first 2 years, he's gotten many of the things Republicans wanted done. Of course, in TN politics, his second term (likely because it's unlikely real Republican opposition will come forth) will tell the tale...

Ever-vigilant is the creedo here!
