I have a cousin who is 36 years old and an extreme Liberal. She was raised in a home with firearms and hunters in her Grandfather, Father, Brother, Uncles and Cousins. And she is extremely biased on guns, noone knows why. We think it has to do with her attending college for physcology. This is about the time she started hating guns and not being sure about whether she beleives in God anymore. She was raised in a Christian home with a Grandfather who was a minister in a Nazarene Church for many, many years. Anyway she called me the other day asking how she could get a membership to the gun club I went to. I was very surprised she'd ask me that. It turned out that it is my uncles birthday today and he told her he wanted nothing more than to be a member at the gun club so he could go shooting with me. I told her the process was that all members needed to be voted on and that I'd have to call 5 other board members besides my yes vote to get him in. We don't hold meetings in the summer months. I made all the calls and told her it was a go. She stopped by today to pick up the card and I told her I would only accept her money for my uncles membership if she promised to go to the range atleast once with him to shoot. She reluctantly agreed and said 'OK but only once", I responded ...." Thats all it will take"
I was happy to take a liberals money to fund our gun club. Felt really good for some reason

F4YG, Way to go! I hope when she goes to the range that she has a ball (I'm sure she will) and comes away with a different point of view or at least a better understanding of what truly responsible gun ownership and use is about.
Maybe you can return her to the way she was. College seems to screw up more minds that it helps.

And if she doesn't just shoot her in the butt.

As the father of two girls, I feel that there really is a strong, liberal, anti-gun, anti-hunting bias in our school system today, especially in the higher grades and on through college! My oldest daughter was never really interested in hunting, but she did like fishing! My younger daughter was really into hunting up to about age ten. I know that as girls get up into the teens, many of them give up on the outdoor sports. Maybe its a part of their gender, but I really think that liberal school systems and peer pressure take most of the blame!
Anyway, F4YG I hope that your plan works and we get a convert!

If you can get them(liberals/anti-gunners) to the range in the first place the experience of shooting usually takes care of the rest. It works 90% of the time. Unless your an idiot and give the first time shooter a .357 mag or something bigger as the first gun they shoot, thinking it's funny. Start with a .22 and go from there.

colleges brain wash kids and turn them against hunting, guns, white men, God and every thing conservative in general and gay is great. There required to go to seminars that teach the liberal way of life. My two girls graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee and even from that school it took them 5 or 6 years to get back to the way they was raised. There good republicans now but when they graduated from UT, they were not fit to walk the path of a true human being.

That's my biggest fear, with public shcools, I'm debating whether to put my Dughter in Private or public just because of that. I will instill in her that if she hears negative things about hunting or guns to instruct whoever said that, that She's not in school to learn someone elses opinions. That and I don't want to have to go down and throttle some teacher over it either[:@] But I would. I don't really remember any teachers in my day pushing there own agendas down our throat? I had a pretty liberal minded history teacher but as far as His ciriculm(sp) He was pretty even about it?bUt then again it was the '80s and PC wasn't even heard of yet?
