Default Anti-Gun and Second Amendment links so WE can respond!!.

To All of you folks that frequent this forum as per request please post any and all links to alerts, bill proposals, etc on this thread if you like. You can also make your own posts as you have always done. I just tend to agree that this way they can all be kept together at the top and not end up dissapearing all together. This is important to us all as Hunters, Pro-Gun and Second Amendment Rights people. Its one thing to post about and debate. The more active we become, the better chance we will have to ultimately succeed!! .......we all have to do our part

Thanks for your participation!!

P.S. If any disagree or do not think this is a good idea please email me, or post here. Thanks folks....

I think its one of the best ideas that has ever come across this forum Christine and thanks. I'm sure there will be some on here that won't agree, especially the kerry and liberal supporters.

Here is a link to everyones representives voting record and grade. It cannot be considered being biased for pro-gun organizations since it is graded by an anti-gun organization, {the brady bunch}.

I'm not saying this post thread is a bad idea, but isn't HuntingPolitics.com in general where we're supposed to put posts such as this? Or has HuntingPolitcs.com become so inendated with outside issues that we need to to gun issues in a particular post

Maybe what we need is a new forum for other socital issues.

Absolutely NOTHING has changed in this forum. I posted this due to emails and suggestions from members to assure that gun issues would not get lost in the shuffle. Many of us do and still can make individual posts with alerts etc. However with the numbers posting on this forum.....they may end up on page 3 and not be read. That is the reason I made this choice....to give you folks the choice to either post on this thread at the top....or as always the choice to post an individual thread. I hope that this explains well enough. If not shoot me an email as my ear is always open to member concerns.

Sincerely,

Christine

Christine

I think is a very good idea but your own words make my point. With so many topics on HuntingPolitics that have nothing to do with guns issues, acutal firearm topics can get lost. I don't think it would be a bad idea to create a new forum soley for firearm legislation, hunting laws etc. What do you think?

I doubt that Admin would go for another forum specifically for that as the way this one is worded, although I might be surprised. Add to that fact that it is a major election year....and those that frequent this forum know well where to look. New members will not take long to find this forum if interested enough. JMHO though and we all know what those are like.

SOME OF YOU HAVE STATED" IT WON'T EVER HAPPEN IN THIS COUNTRY"

WRONG!

OSHKOSH POLICE CONDUCT DOOR TO DOOR GUN CONFISCATIONS

Shooting of Oshkosh police officer results in knee jerk neighborhood gun grab

Oshkosh, Wis. -- Following the shooting of an Oshkosh police officer Saturday night, area residents were forced from their homes, their lawful firearms being confiscated by police.

The Oshkosh Police Department's Special Weapons and Tactics Unit responded to the area, with a K-9 police dog in pursuit of the perpetrator who was reported to have fled on foot.

Citizens' guns were seized through searches of area homes. The police promised to return the firearms after forensic tests proved they were not involved in the crime. The injured officer's name was withheld, but media reports indicate his condition is not life-threatening.

"The message is: Hand over your guns, now!" said Corey Graff, executive director of Wisconsin Gun Owners Inc. "This is a blatant case of guilty-until-proven-innocent and an abuse of police power."

Still, residents in the area are furious about the home invasions by police and what they see as theft of their property. Although early reports are unclear, they indicate a search warrant was issued for two homes, yet additional home owners also had firearms confiscated.

"We want the perpetrator of this crime caught and brought to justice just like everyone else," said Graff. "But that doesn't mean the police should trample citizens' 4th amendment protections, steal lawful private property and enter the home without reasonable suspicion or warrant."

One homeowner in the area said his guns were taken by police, guns that hadn't left his gun safe since last hunting season. Another victim of the police searches -- an elderly women -- reported waking up to officers' searching her home in the early morning hours.

The Oshkosh Northwestern reported, "Residents were not being allowed to return to their homes by press time."
