Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Went to my buddies bar

Last weekend, it was a good friends 40th birthday,so a bunch of us went to our buddies bar to celebrate. The topics eventually turned to the upcoming election and to be honest I couldn't believe how many people that were there had an anybody but Bush mentality.I'm not talking about the guys I hang with, but the regulars there. This isn't a trendy establishment more like your corner blue collar drinking establishment. If you go by this site you would think Bush is going to win in a landslide.

I work out of my house so I don't get to hear the "water cooler" scuttle butt so the attitudes I was hearing took me by surprise. Any but else been experiencing this?

I don't go to "The Bars " anymore The closest thing for me is the American Legion or the V.F.W. But anyway most of my buddies are scared that this A$$ hole might actually win .Truth be told so am I.[:'(]

Where I work at I would say it is about 50-50!!!! I shut them up by simply asking them who they feel safer with as President when it comes to dealing with terrorist, it doesn't seem to change their minds (they say, but I think I have them thinking about it), but they sure don't say anymore!

I think the biggest thing is to realize that it is very possible that our current President may become a private citizen in 2005. That thought scares the daylights out of me. Most poles that I have seen call it dead even but there is a lot of time before election day is actually here. My point is that I understand the majority of folks here are, for the most part, Bush supporters with conservative views. There also seems to be a lot of Kerry bashing, which would be just the opposite if this was a Kerry fan base. Bash all you want, but never underestimate the support that Kerry has. Like Don Corleone said..."Keep your friends close and your enemies closer".

I agree...

I don't go to bars either. Around my office, it's probably 50-50 as well. I will admit it too, I am scared sh**less about Mr. Ketchup-head! [&:][] One can only hope that "The Hildebeast" does a dirty deed to torpedo his campaign, so she can gear up for 2008.

Just sit back and think for a moment.... Think back... You are 14 years old.... Life was grand... You and your buddies are plinking old paint cans with .22's and having a great time. Nobody thinks nothing of it and none of your buddies gets hurt either.... You never talked back to your parents and you alwasy respected the law....

Now, open your eyes and imagine "PRESIDENT KERRY".... [&:][][:'(]

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think a lot of people will wake up in November and realize what a mistake it would be to vote for Kerry. I am not thrilled with both choices in this dogfight but like I have said before Bush smells a whole lot less.

I never thought the clintoons could win once much less twice. They did it with easy. Go figure.
I do everything I can from talking, passing out flyers and lawn signs for the canidates I vote for but so does the other guy.

Life is surely strange in some ways, But people seem to get what they deserve when the community votes.

You won't find many Kerry supporters where I work. Most of my collegues would find it just as difficult as I would to have to salute the likes of John Kerry and have him as Commander in Chief. We are still trying to recover from 8 years of being treated like step-children by the Klintoon administration.

All the Demos I know are voting Kerry and the Repubs for Bush. Many of the Independents are spouting the Dmoes' rhetoric about the war in Iraq, etc. but their support usually seems to sway with popular public opinion and what's in the news. I think Kerry (and Edwards) are running their campaign a bit foolishly, doing attack, attack, attack on Bush instead of spelling out their plans of making things better. People naturally will lean towards sticking with what they know instead of jumping into something new and unknown. Kerry's plans, ideas and solutions are still unknown to a large degree and he's making a huge tactical blunder by keeping it that way. He seems to like playing some kind of "I've got a secret" game but it will lose him more support than it gains.

At this point, I just don't see Kerry winning and think it is Bush's election to lose. I think Bush will probably win with about 55% of the vote if he continues building up support from now through the election. If Kerry does something really stupid and melts down, Bush could win by a landslide.
