Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Are You Ready?????

With all of the scuttlebutt about more terrorist attacks that seem as if they are inevitable, are you and your family ready??
I am not speaking doomsday scene here....just up-front.."are you ready" period. I am no survivalist but....hmmmmmm feel I am ready as I can be. I know most medicinal herbs, and how they should be used etc. I know dang near 100% of the wild edibles in my area and surrounding states. ( Have spent over 2 weeks out with just what is out there to eat, and ate very well. ) One does need to know how to snare or deadfall though...that helps alot if your not squemesh and want the protein.

I also keep the home front ready at all times, it is just me and my lil boy. No need for any further info. Just wondering if I was the only one that was ready for whatever...and NO, I am no survivalist....just a mom that knows how to get things taken care of and curious as to what other thoughts were from you folks . Thanks.....

For my wife, myself, and the dog I've got about two weeks worth of potable water, a month's worth of canned/dried foods, three months worth of medication (I'm a juvenile diabetic, so that's a big worry if all hell breaks loose), a couple of platoon first aid kits, and a good (but not great) supply of ammo. Since I'm not quite as far as out into the middle of nowhere, that's all I stockpile.

AughtSix, Are you a type II?? When you say juvinile diabetes, it makes me think type I. I do not see why they would deny the expense personally.
This is what I do for a living and I cannot see that they would be able to deny any claims that you have. Questions?? please email me if ya want as I may be able to help.

Yep, I'm type I--insulin dependent. My insurance company takes care of me; I just keep three months on hand. I get my meds through the mail, and they send three months worth at a time.

My family has a 4 year food storage supply in the basement of our barn. 19 inches of reinforced concrete on every side down there....

I know how scary it is to to hear planes overhead with a no fly zone and my folks in lockdown on base clear across the country. The world that seems so small feels so big.
