If Democrats and liberals are supposedly for the poor and the working class, why are all the millionaire celebrities such staunch liberals? What is in it for them to have a liberal president in office? Do they want to pay higher taxes? I know Ben Affleck was complaining that he got back $1.7 million in taxes and that wasn"™t fair because the regular Joe only got back a few hundred. I just can"™t make sense of it. Is it because conservatives are too moral? Is being a liberal just the trendy thing to do these days? I just don"™t get it. Please help.
Liberalism isn't just about money .
A lot of it has to do with them being in favor of socialism , which also makes no sense in view of the fact that nobody is supposed to be rich in a socialist society .
IMO liberals are just stupid .

The main reason that they are mostly liberals is that they don't live in the real world. Also, they think that they are better than us and smarter too.
Liberalism has many very socialist leanings and it is a real threat to a democracy. They really do think that they are smarter, and therefore should have more say in our government than the average Joe does, since we don't know enough to govern ourselves!
99% of these elite people have never been in the real world, and have no clue as to what reality is!

I think there is some truth to that but the most common thread I see among liberals is accepting "anything goes" for personal pleasure or professional advancement. If one wants to have liberities without responsiblity, liberalism is the route to go. Just look at the poster boys for liberals, clintoon and any of the kennedy boys. The old "If it feels good do it" thinking. That's why, if you hold no one to any standard, have an excuse for everyone mistakes and wrong doing, anyone who judges you is to conservative, too right wing, overly judgemental.
Being liberal is following the easy road and never looking back nor too far ahead. Celebrities that like the loose life style and desire public approval from the mindless admires will seek that path aggressively

Do they feel guilty about the poor people when they throw their million dollar parties and buy fly around the world showing off to other rich celebrities. Did Ben Affleck give his $1.7 million tax return to a charity or did he buy some fancy car or another 10 million dollar home? It doesn't make sense. Then they raise some money (other people's money) for charity and think they're saints. Or, if they give some of their own money, it's like 10 grand and they make 57 million a movie. Conservatives oftentimes are traditionalists...they support the constitution, but oftentimes want to censor "free speech" to "protect the innocent"...
When your a celebrity, your paycheck revolves around the first amendment. ANY infringement upon it, and that is infringement upon your well-being and livelihood.
Add in the pro-choice/pro-life agenda, and it's pretty easy to understand why these people vote for liberals.
Bottom line mentality...entertainers are in the entertaining business, and do not want ANY restrictions on their "art forms"...and they expect parents to parent, not the government...

If the liberals had it their way, they'd be raising your kids. They are the ones who want to restict parent rights, not ensure them. And if you think entertainment celebraties have any interest in how children are raised you really are smoking some nasty stuff.

JagMagMan, Oldelkhunter and Logs pretty much have it nailed. I think these liberal millionaires often do feel guilty or that they should do something to pay everybody else back for a living they didn't really earn. It's a "feel good" (i.e. pompous) attitude in which they can protest against the establishment and rail against "they" without any responsibility or effort in finding a realistic and working solution to whatever problem they're complaining about.
You ask if they want to pay higher taxes and mention Ben Afleck (a real rocket scientist) complaining about getting $1.7 million back on his tax return. You'll notice that good ole Ben sure didn't give that money back to the government or say no thanks. If Ben is getting that much money back, he ought to fire his CPA, accountant or whoever prepares his taxes and tax strategy. Conservatives often are more moral and believe in things the rich and liberals would rather just avoid. Don't worry about not getting it Barnes cause there are many other stupid things in life that none of us will get either. It's like Forest Gump so eloquently said "STUPID IS AS STUPID DOES."
