Default Enriched Uranium removed from IRAQ

Reported on by the US Dept. of Energy. A "substancial quantity" of Enriched Uranium was removed from a facility in Iraq along with containers of radioactive material and low rad materials and wastes. The DOE stated that the material existance was kept quiet to prevent it from being stolen or appropriated by terrorists.

Would this qualify as WMD?

If they kept the enriched uranium materials a secret, are we doing the same thing with the other WMD's? Keep it quiet until we can get it out of the country. I think that is what is happening. I think we have them and are just being very careful, until we can control and/or destroy the WMD's.

Any other's have thoughts on this?

If they found a 250 tank car train with all tanks filled with Sarin or VX the democrats would deny it was WMD.

In reality, no. Even if it had been refined to weapons grade, without a device and or a delivery system it is not a weapon let alone a WMD.
The potential is there but still no weapon. There is little doubt in my mind that given time it would have ended up as a weapon and it would likely have been used.

In reality YES! Even without the capability to cause a nuclear reaction, its the dirty stuff that the terrorists would love to have to make dirty bombs with!
It doesn't matter what we find the dummycraps would dismiss it! I haven't watched the prapaganda news today, but I doubt that it was reported on too much, if at all!

Here's what the haul included. "'A huge range of radioactive items used for medical and industry purposes,' said Brian Wilkes, a spokesman for the energy department's national Nuclear Security Administration. Much of the material was in powdered form, which is easily disbursed. The statement provided only scant details about the material taken from Iraq but said it included roughly 1,000 highly radioactive sources that could potentially be used in a radiological disbursal device or what is known as a dirty bomb. Also ferried out of Iraq 1.95 tons of low-enriched uranium
IF THATS NOT WMD what is?

huge range of different isotopes were secured in the joint energy department, defense department operation. They've been used in Iraq for a range of medical and industrial purposes such as testing oil wells and pipelines. Uranium is not suitable for making a dirty bomb, but some of the other radioactive material, including cesium 137, cobalt 60, and strontium could have been valuable to a terrorist seeking to fashion a terror weapon."
sounds like a good thing we got the URANIUM before the terrorists did.

8x8,

On FoxNews it was reported that weapons grade enriched uranium was what was found in addition to the high-level radioactive sources your source mentioned..

For everyone else,

Do you think we have our hands on some sarin, vx, tabon, blister, and mustard stockpiles of these weapons and are setting on it until we can get them out? It would make sense to take out the bad boys first... ie radioactive materials, then chemicals, because of the hazard of treating chemicals too.

Here's a thought to ponder for all those people who think there aren't no WMD's and Bush lied just to goto war.

If Bush knew there weren't any would he have planted some out there as to say"Hey look, we found them"?

He's not so dumb as to lie about something then forget to plant evidence, futher screwing up his diabolical plan.[>:][:'(][&:]

8X8...they won't admit it until they, themsleves our hit with a bomb with Saddam and Ol' Binny's name attached. It's like beatin' a dead horse with them Yahoo's. DOn't get too steamed it won't matter to them[:'(]
