Default The horrors of yet another War.

Another American has been murder, beheaded in Iraq. This time it was a Solider, a prisoner of War. This is a horrible course of action for our enemy yet nothing new to American Military men.

On a small island in the Pacific, Chi Chi Jima was there was a ***anese radio tower that forwarded almost all the important air traffic to the ***anese Imperail Army headquaters. Great effort was expended to destroy the tower with little success. Almost all the Avenger aircraft that left the US Carriers that attacked the Island tower were shot up or shot down. Among the many pilots to attempt this was none other than G H Bush.

He was shot down and within sight of the ***anese on shore resued by an American Sub.

He was one of the fortunate ones. Others like his crew died in the crash but the less fortunate one were captured by the ***anese.
Some were treated properly at first but all met the same fate in the end. A merciless death.

There were two methods that our then enemy felt approprate for the American enemy. One was the prisoner was used for bayonet practice. A Solider was placed on his knees with his hands bound behind his back and a circle was draw around his heart. The ***enese soliders would charge the American with fixed bayonets and were ordered to bayonet him anywhere outside the circle. If he collasped, he was tied to a stake so the practice could continue.
The other method was what we are seeing now. The Solider had his hand bound behind him, was required to kneel and bow his head then with a ***anese Officers sword was beheaded.

This was not the end for these fine American Soliders. Next, they were dissected by a doctor or ***enese field medic, their liver removed. It was prepared for the Local Commander and eaten. He would require his junior Officer to dine with him.

This activity was kept a secret for many years even though those quilty of the acts were charged, convicted and executed the US Government felt it was too great a horror for the families or the American to endure less seek revenge.

I relate this to you for no other reason as to demonstrate that these horrors are not new to us as Americans and the thinking behind the actors although different is very much the same.
The ***anese thought we were less that human. They even had a word for it that I do not recall at this time. The terrorist feel we are less than human, infidal that have no rightful place in their world.
Just as those American Fly Boys flew into the heavy flack at Chi Chi Jima and the machine gun fire of the Germans or ***anese elsewhere we in this day and age must understand the threat to us and take whatever action at whatever location we find our enemy and defeat them.
These beheadings and horror will not stop until our enemy is totally destroyed, brought to their knees, surrenders or be eliminated. If it takes burning their hiding places to the ground as we did so many ***anese and some Germany cities, it is what it will take to get the job done.
Many good Americans have died and will die doing this but many more of us will live free and see our children and our childrens children live free. They can murder good men but more good men will come to destroy them for our good.

Logs, Due to your recomendation, I purchased a copy of "Fly Boys". It is an outstanding read.

With all of the information that is currently available regarding WWII, I have been waiting for someone to make the comparison of current events to events of that time.

The part about the ***s eating a soldier while he was "alive" a little at a time, so that the meat would'nt spoil in the tropical heat has stuck with me.

Great topic!

The Viet Cong did a lot of this too.
While it is a terrible tragedy, it is also a fact of war against a moral-less, fanatical enemy.
It's aim is to demoralize an enemy, and in today's case of instant TV, to turn on the "why are we there" crowd! But wait a minute! That IS why we are there!
