Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Saddam in Court

Did anyone see this today? I was unable to watch it, however I did hear many reports on it. I was sickeningly struck by the sympathetic tone by many towards this man who led a regime of gross brutality & evil. They talked about his tone, sadly reporting his distressed reaction to the charges & reporting his defiant tone as a positive.

The US press in general has a horrid track record of reporting on dictators & thugs like Saddam. They have been very kind & supportive of Castro in Cuba. They were careful not to make too much of Hitler's eradication attempt on the jews, until the film & pictures of the liberated concentration camps called their hand. This kind of "reporting" does a great disservice to the US.

He made the same claim when they found him in his spider hole , and I absolutely loved the Marine's reply:

"President Bush sends his regards ... "

I heard something on the news that really illuminated how this guy thinks. They were talking about how he brutalized millions; killed, maimed, tortured at a whim... but when charged demanded that his lawyers be present. How pathetic.

I've got an idea to finance the rebuilding of Iraq. Sell lottery tickets to win the chance to spend 5 minutes with good old saddam... just you, him and your favorite louisville slugger. Sell them world wide... I'm sure there would be enough to throw in a free plane ticket.
