Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default What would they be worth?

I watch Larry King live every night on CNN and last week they had a Senator who was a Repub. dont remember who, that said the smartest thing. Why dont we quit supproting the Saudi royal family and Iraq tell them to take their oil and go pound sand with it. They rely on the USA to import there oil, what if we got our oil from other places besides these two, Hell they hate us anyways. Not a huge percent to make up, then what would the Iraq's and the Saudi's think about us and WHAT WOULD THEY BE WORTH if they didn't sell their oil to the people they dont like anyways? HMMMMMMMM

sounds like a plan, until we are paying $5 or more per gallon.

the Saudi oil percentage is pretty high, they are the worlds largest exporter. (oops)

with current research into hybrid and fuel cell vehicles our kids may see the day that we can break our dependence on oil. what a sweet day that would be.

OK notice above my answer he edited his comment, how much oil do we import from Saudi that is 17% you say, how much from iraq, add the two togeather and what are these two countries going to do with it, supply and demand, price of gas is so high because it cant get to the ports without a pipeline or truck being sabatoged.

They do not reply on us, 17% is a significant markey share, but not tremendous and certainly the other countries of the world would gladly take that 17% share for their own use, wouldn't they ?

Look at your map you put on the other thread, What country do we import the most oil from? Now what if they had to sell that % to other Countries besides us, how much do they pay for oil that is other countries? Also what % of the oil do we get from Iraq% add those two countries up and what % do you get? Thats alot of oil from the middle east

Yes, it is. We would NOT do immense damages to the Middle Eastern countires by stopping the imports of their oil - I don't believe that. When our piece of the oil pie decreases, another country gets it. its not like they'll just have no one to sell oil to, you know ?

no matter how you link all the individual suppliers to the individual users, our worldwide usage of oil is pretty constant and predictable.

Wonder if we could make a subject interesting if we talked about something that anyone on here knows something about? Maybe we should stick to hunting, fishing, lawn mowing, or some local info in our communities. When I want to know something about oil importation I'll ask someone that works in that area. Nothing gives us more knowledge than working within the area we are talking about. Otherwise we are just chit-chatting with little or no knowledge as to what we are talking about. Sure shows in the threads on this forum.
