With all of the liberal talk of "Bush's war," and "it's all about the oil," it's about time to put some things in perspective!
We were attacked on 9/11! They declared war on us, and we took them up on their offer!
Since then, we have been fighting a very unconventional war, against a very unconventional enemy! An enemy with mostly, no country, no flag, no morals, and no honor! A costly war! With possibly no end in our lifetime. Yet it is a just, and neccesary war! We see a high price tag in money, and human tragedy! We will never be able to put a price tag, or a body count on the price we WOULD have paid by ignoring their challenge!
Our offensive in Afgahnistan and Iraq, have rid the world of Saddam and put terrorists the world over, on the defensive! It is hard to recruit, train, and plan terrorist attacks on the run! So, we are much better off, and much safer than we were before!
As far as "oil" goes, it just happens to be one of the world's (not just our) great needs, the Middle East region's greatest cash crop, and terrorism's tool!
Other than that, we are there for fighting terrorism! Not for the oil!
Some of us have not only forgotten that America WAS attacked, but that there are basically two types of terrorist groups involved! Their one common thread, is they both HATE US, AND WANT US DEAD AT ALL COST!
On one hand, you have the "fundamentalists!" These are the religious radicals like Osama. These are the ones who are out to "rid the world" of everyone else but themselves! These people have little use for luxuries of life, especially OIL! Their only concern with oil is, it buys them weaponry and technology to use against us, "the great satans!"
On the other hand, you have the Saddams of this world! They are in reality, more "themselves," what they say they hate in us! Greedy, arrogant, dictators! They lavish themselves with the richest of royalties, oppress their own people, work on WMD's and finance other terrorist cells!
So, these people don't even like each other, they just HATE US MORE!
Saddam, not Iraq, WAS working on WMD's and WAS supporting global terrorism!
Other than that, it is not about the oil! And we are safer, and better off doing what we are doing now!

We know them by their own words and actions fng, "They" are members of Al Queida and other Islamo-terrorist organizations that identify themselves in their rantings to the press, a name usually followed by jihad. "They" are the young and spoiled offspring of all social levels from the middle east including but not limited to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Quatar, Oman, Pakistan, India, Turkey, Albania, Macedonia and more than a few others. They are lead by a few cynical "Users" after political gain for themselves under the guise of religion. These "Leaders" will use them up and throw them out as soon as "They" get where "They" want to be. "They" are no better and no worse than the short sighted, "what's in it for me" folks we have right here at home. The difference is, the ones here have not taken up arms against our communities..........yet.
