On Monday, French President Jacques Chirac (search) said Bush had overstepped by wading into EU's affairs with his call for Turkey's admission to the European Union (search). Chirac said that Bush commenting on Turkish-EU relations was like a French leader commenting on U.S.-Mexican ties.
i am also trying to find a story that i heard on the radio too. it was about chirac rejecting that NATO send troops to AFGHANISTAN to help them secure the country while it holds elections or somethin. it seems that chirac is against everything that we ever do to help other countries. it also seems that chirac despises bush. none of this new to me or to you guys, i think we should drop the word ALLY when it comes to france. i agree with oreilly time to get tough. put some economic pressure on them. what say you guys?
It's OK for the French to try to dictate U.S. policy regarding Iraq and Trashcanistan via the UN, but it's not OK for the U.S. to work to engourage Turkeys acceptance into the EU.

No kidding...with "friends" like France, who needs enemies?
I actually bought a bottle of french wine by mistake the other day. The words "made in france" were in lawyers print and hidden to the side of the label. It was a mediocre bottle of wine at best. I think Jaque Chirac should spend more of his time and comments on improving french wine and fixing his own country.

Personally, As a leader to a country that should be by our side AND RIGHTFULLY SO...( What language would they be speaking now without us having been in their picture??).he disgusts me beyond belief!!!! JMHO And we all know what those are like.

You're absolutely right on all points.
Perhaps the best solution is to give O'Reilly a job as the next Ambassador to France.
France sucks and so does there leader, hell we all know that, what we should have done is let the Germans destroy them in the last WWar, then maybe they would appreciate us

Nah, they'd blame us for not saving them. It's not in their nature to give thanks.

RE: chirac is an idiot!
Actually I can see Chiraq's point...
Inclusion into the European Union is decided upon by the leaders of the nations within the Union...and GW speaking for a nation other than the US, for inclusion, would be like France pushing for NAFTA.
As much as we hate the French, comparing the situation of Turkey and the EU with sending troops anywhere is alot like comparing apples with grass...

So it is wrong for a head of state to speak kindly of an ally? Considering that Bush is the leader of the most powerful country in the world, I think he is within his bounds to comment on international issues.
