Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default War on terror in the Phillipines and South Pacific

Why are we not hearing anything about the war on terror from this front? An American missionary was beheaded there a couple of years ago after he and his wife had been held hostage for months. U.S. forces were sent there at the same time we went into Afghanistan and are still there. Terrorists blew up a nightclub in Bali yet that was hardly covered in the press here in the U.S. nor was the trial and ultimate conviction and life sentence of the perp.
The 20th century started out with the U.S. fighting muslims in the Philipines and the 21st century is starting out that way as well, why no coverage?

Actually, the main perpatrator of the Bali bombings was sentenced to death by the Indonesian High court some time ago. Some of his henchmen were also sentenced to be hanged. Of course there will be an appeal and a request for mercy etc, but president Megawati-Sukarno Putri has already dismissed any idea of pardoning these terrorists, as has the former army chief, who is a possible winner of the elections.

No worries there, those bombers are going to hang.

Vesi, I know all of this, my question was why it hasn't been covered in the U.S. press. What I do know I have been reading in the international press; Sydney Morning Herald, Moscow Times, The Scotsman, Aftenposten etc.
