An interesting and provocative article from Ralph Peters author of Fighting for the Future and Beyond Baghdad. Peters is a retired US Army LCol who writes thoughtful essays for US Army War College Parameters and numerous other controversial columns in US publications. He can tend to be a little simplistic and one sided, though there is generally significant truth in his arguments.

i kind of agree with some of what he says but , at some areas , it sounds like he's endorsing a holy war , which is what the muslim world accused us of doing in the first place , and that could be used against us by others , including the libby's. it could also be used against christianity. which personally bothers me .

Darn it muskrat89, you got me wandering through Ralph Peters' essays, clausewitz and many other scholars. The internet is a wondeful thing but it can sure suck up your time.

He's full of it. Yep, terrorists are using Islam to spread their message of hate. Something tells me that Mohammed would disagree. I could call myself a Christian and preach death and murder, but none of you would agree that I'm preaching the true form of Christianity.
Destroy the person and the politics, not the religion.
