Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Where will Saddam go

There are many questinos of where Saddam will go with the change of power in a few weeks. Some want him in to remain and stand trial in the US. Others want him handed over to the new Iraqi Government and let them hold his trial.

Also, to my knowledge, I might be wrong, there have been no formal charges against Saddam quite yet.

What are your thoughts?

Well I feel the Iraqi people should try him, but we should hold him until his execution!

No he has not been charged.

He belongs at the bottom of a river somewhere.

SF could put him back in his hole and finish dropping that grenade.

I'm not an expert on international criminal law, but I would imagine that it's up to the new Iraqi government to try Hussein. He may have been a blood-thirsty tyrant, but he didn't commit any crimes on our soil, enemy or not. He killed his own people, and they should be the ones to seek justice (with our assistance, naturally).

We're going to remain in country providing security until things settle down, so I don't see any reason to hand Hussein over just yet. We can detain and transport him during the proceedings. I have no faith in the Iraqi police and military forces to maintain order, at least not anytime in the immediate future.

If he is to be executed, then the Iraqis should also do that (their court, after all). Plus, if we are the ones who kill him, that'll just be one more whining point for international lefties who argue that we have no authority to invade the country or arrest its leader.

How about in general population of one of our toughest prisons? We can also throw Michael Jackson in there. Then, we can leak out that they are lovers and also jail-yard snitches.

Because Iraq is still so voltile, and many of Saddams followers are still uncounted for, I believe Iraq should still do hold the trial but have the it in the states.

Ooooooooh, I strongly disagree. I don't want that man here, and I don't want his supporters trying to disrupt the trial and/or free him. Let's keep doing the dirty work in the war zone where it belongs.

Thats why I believe it should be here in the states. Having it in Iraq could result in his followers getting him out. I believe that there would be soo much security here that the trial would not be disturbed.
