Why I don't consider Israel a friend

Please read some or all of this and explain to me why they are considered an ally of this country. Can anyone name a conflict that we have fought in that Israel has sent their soldiers to?

They spy on us.

The Jonathan Jay Pollard case is bad. A Jewish-American stealing U.S. secrets for Israel. A passionate "Israel Firster." Absolutely and egregiously bad. Worse than all the others. Worse because Israel's dependence on America is now virtually total. Worse than the Lavon Affair, Israel tried to burn American libraries in Egypt then and pin it on President Nasser. But that was way back in the 1950s when Israel wasn't as dependent as now. The Holocaust was still recent. Israel's guilt only gradually emerged so the shock of getting blind-sided by a supposed friend was softened. Somewhat.

They sell our technology to our enemies.

The Defense Intelligence Agency suspects Israel shared with China restricted U.S. weapons technology obtained during a joint U.S.-Israeli effort to build a battlefield laser gun," writes Gertz on Jan. 27. U.S. employees have twice "spotted Chinese technicians working secretly with one of the Israeli companies involved in the laser weapon program." A Chinese official in Israel exhibited hard knowledge of the super-secret program to build lasers to shoot down the Katyusha rockets used by Hezbollah on Israeli towns.

Pat Buchanan Israel has been charged before with betraying vital U.S. secrets. In 1992, The Washington Times reported Israel had given Beijing the secret technology of the U.S. Patriot missile. A U.S. investigation found that, while Beijing had acquired the secrets of the Patriot, it could not say for sure who gave them up.

You are quite correct, sir. I most heartily agree. The reasons that we, as a nation, tend to support Israel in all matters have to do with two things. First, POLITICAL. The Jewish community in the US is a rather substantial voting block.... and very organized, as well. The second reason is cultural in nature. Our Government has ALWAYS tended to side with people from cultures with which the majority identify .... i.e., Caucasian, of European descent, Judeo - Christian religious orientation, etc. For very many people in this nation of ours, the Islamic peoples of the Middle East
and the various peoples of Central and Eastern Asia (not to mention the peoples of Africa, Central/ South America and the Pacific) STILL represent a mysterious, dark, unexplained force.... which many fear and loathe - for NO better reason than ignorance.
It is ONLY better understanding between ALL peoples.. and TOLERANCE for other cultures that could (eventually) be the basis for peace in the world. Fear and ignorance only threaten us all.
