Pentagon wasted $100M on unused airline tickets

Defense Department spent an estimated $100 million for airline tickets that were not used over a six-year period and failed to seek refunds even though the tickets were reimbursable, congressional investigators say.


100 million ! Who wouldnt like a spare 100 mil .....bureaucracy at its best

Well, that isn't any more than the bail-outs the Feds have already given the industry. In an younger, more idealistic time in my life, I argued against operating the Federal government like a business. My argument was that it is there to provide services for the people, not turn a profit. But now that I see how much Washington wastes, a little business-like accountability doesn't sound so bad. I'd lose my job if I wasted $1000, let alone $100 Million.
