Default Stop the NRA's latest cries for help

Dear Friend,

If you are going to get involved in renewing the Assault Weapons Ban ... the time is now. Congress is in session for only 30 more days before the ban expires later this summer. If the ban isn"™t renewed, in most states, new assault weapons will be sold at gun shows without even a background check. That means assault weapons could be sold to anyone: criminals, gang members, drug dealers, and terrorists.

Our advertising campaign starts next week and it is crucial that we maintain it throughout the summer. We need your support to renew the ban. We can"™t do it alone. CLICK HERE TO MAKE A CONTRIBUTION.

Over 75 percent of Americans agree that the Assault Weapons Ban must be renewed. Every police organization in the country, religious groups, educators and scores of other mainstream organizations agree.

In fact, there is only one group in the country in favor of letting the ban end: The National Rifle Association. And so far President Bush is listening to the NRA over every other constituency.

We cannot let this ban expire. Here's what happens if the NRA wins:

1. In most states, eighteen-year-olds will be able to walk into gun stores and buy new American-made AK-47s.

2. In many states, it will be possible to bring concealed TEC-9 assault pistols, loaded with thirty rounds of ammunition, into bars, churches and sports arenas, and even public schools or universities.

3. In many states kids as young as 13 will be able to buy brand new American-made AK-47s at gun shows and through the classifieds.

4. New assault weapons will be advertised over the internet.

5. New rapid-fire ammunition magazines that allow guns to fire up to 100 rounds without reloading will be mass-produced and sold on a cash-and-carry basis to anyone, with no questions or background checks.

HOW MANY OUTRIGHT LIES CAN YOU FIND???

I'm honestly so angry from hearing this repeated by these nuts that I'm feeling ill.

THey are lying through their teeth (surprise, surprise), and what does it matter anyway with the Bill of Rights?

We wouldn't want adults to have the right to defend themselves or enjoy a very rewarding hobby, now would we?

Oh, you mean like the ones I see on AuctionArms.com now? And who would wager that criminals today respect the law in regards to carrying in these (usually) off-limit areas? And good luck concealing a 30-round mag.

For people who sure love gun control, they really know little about the Gun Control Act of 1968.

More than the thousands upon thousands of pre- and post-ban AW's on retail and auction sites now?

Still out there, and last time I hear, mags don't fire ammo on their own. Background checks?!

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I'm about to explode. These people are animals. Just when I think they can't stoop any lower, I find them rolling around in their own filth.

Very good topic F4YG! This clearly proves one of my main points in some other threads!
While we use FACT based statistics to defend the Second Amendment, the Anti's are not interested in facts! All they ever use are pure lies, and half-truths, in the hopes of swaying public opinion, by playing on the emotions of those who do not know the facts!
As gun owners, we need to keep up with the facts and educate the public (and some of our own) that our freedoms are being attacked by liars, who have absolutely no regard for the truth!
I have noticed that these anti's when presented with facts, seem to skirt them, and move on to a different topic of attack!
Their lies and half truths cannot stand the light of fact based stats, and they soon slither off to seek easier prey! Let's keep them on the run!

The sad part about all of this is that the majority of people that would read that would think that it is 100% fact. I know my blood pressure would be a few points lower if I wouldn't get all wound up reading and hearing things like this in the mainstream media.

Actually like ya'll hear know, it's not legal to carry a weapon into a bar, or school, that's been illegal for longer than I've been alive.

1. In most states, eighteen-year-olds will be able to walk into gun stores and buy new American-made AK-47s.

And that is actually how it should be. Too bad we can't have a good old American manufacturer such as Winchester or Savage turning out Ak's, they both made military rifles in the past.

2. In many states, it will be possible to bring concealed TEC-9 assault pistols, loaded with thirty rounds of ammunition, into bars, churches and sports arenas, and even public schools or universities.

Hallefrickenluia! The only thing that can top that off is being on a date with Carmen Electra while doing so

3. In many states kids as young as 13 will be able to buy brand new American-made AK-47s at gun shows and through the classifieds

I don't know what 13 year old can afford an AK let alone these fictional Ameican made AK's let alone feed one a steady diet, I sure couldn't when I was a kid. If a 13 year old is responsible enough to run a paper route, mow lawns, or shovel snow to save up for an AK, there is no reason why a 13 year old shouldn't be able to buy one.

4. New assault weapons will be advertised over the internet.

We wouldn't want capitalism and a free market economy in the United Sates now would we mommies?

5. New rapid-fire ammunition magazines that allow guns to fire up to 100 rounds without reloading will be mass-produced and sold on a cash-and-carry basis to anyone, with no questions or background checks.

I'll settle for 75 round drums being available for $20 a piece, then I would have to go buy an AK. I would really like some 'standard capacity' mags for my handguns as well for cheap, along with a few 30 rounders just for fun. maybe even get a Mini-14- oops, forget it, Ruger doesn't like people with hi cap mags either, guess I'll have to settle for an AR-15.

Thankyou million mommies for painting the wet-dream world I wished I lived in, now I think I'll call my congresscritters to try to make it a reality.
