Default Bush and Gas Prices

Anyone who would like to blaim Bush for the high cost of gasoline, please quote me the fuel prices in other countries. How about Europe? Canada? I hear people talk about Bush and his oil interest and even heard the quote "we have two oil-men running the country and look at the price of gas". Try buying gas in France or Germany. I'll bet it's way more than here.

I poked around the Web and found this international gasoline price guide.

Selected World Gasoline Prices

Actually, here's a historical listing up to a couple of weeks ago. It's at the bottom of the page at the link above, but took a minute to open up.

Weekly Retail Premium Gasoline Prices (Including Taxes)

The Ketchup Giggolo suggested we open up our strategic oil reserves last week. Boy is he a savvy person.

Yep, it sure is a good idea to use up our supplies now so that the Middle East has even more leverage to rape us at the pump later on.

Default RE: Bush and Gas Prices

My parents took a trip to Ireland last March, and while they were there they rented a car into which they put fuel costing on average $5-$6 (USD) per Imp. Gallon. Granted, an Imp. Gallon is a touch more than a U.S. Gallon, but the price is still a LOT higher there.

WHY?

Because they have a bunch of A$$WIPES like John Kerry who tax the living crap out of everything, INCLUDING GASOLINE! I think that it's important to note that John Kerry supported raising the federal gasoline excise tax by $0.50/gallon. If Kerry had his way we'd be paying $2.50/gallon (here in Iowa) rather than $1.95. In Iowa we're blessed (surprisingly) with a fairly low tax (fed and state) of only $0.36/gal. Most states are a LOT higher.

It's all about taxation, and if Kerry gets elected you can bet your butt that he'll see to it that you pay a lot more...and you won't have to be "rich" to get screwed, either. Think about that the next time you put gas in your work truck.

Default RE: Bush and Gas Prices

Those are some good links to gas prices. We just back from a trip to the Bahamas (a coutry not run by Bush) and the gas was $3.75 a gallon. That kind of sucks when a boat is your main form of transportation. Now that I'm back here, I appreciate that our gas prices are actually low when compared to everyone else. Filling up the 15 gallon gas tank on your car at $1.95 a gallon sure beats putting 85 gallons at $3.75 into a boat.
