Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Prisoner abuse.

I don't know about you but the prisoner abuse makes me mad as hell. I fully support our troops in Iraq. I have a cousin, and several friends serving there. I also support and will vote again for Pres. Bush. But I hate the prisoner abuse. IMO when abuse takes place we act no better than Saddam himself.

I say this thread makes me mad as hell. Why ? I don't give a rats ass about what you and the media call prisoners abuse. I can about winning the war and getting our boys home ASAP. If that takes smacking a few hates, degrading the prisoners with women bossing them around etc etc so be it. You know what ? Its a friggen war and war sucks buddy. You are trying to compare our boys with Saddam, Al Quadea, the ones who cut off that one guys head .... it aint going to happen. Theres a puzzle, that has thousands of pieces. If smacking around a few prisoners gets a few more pieces, the closer we are to seeing the whole picture.

I don't have any more feeling for those prisoners than the ones in our own prisons. Truth is those prisoners probably deserve death for what they've done in their lives. About the only, and I mean ONLY people in Iraq I feel sorry for are the mothers and fathers totally innocent that are trying to care for their children after decades of Saddam Hussein and the abuse he brought with him and now the war to free them from that.

As I write this I am watching a show on A&E about Sadams rule. It shows video of Iraqi troops giving another Iraqi civilian 50 lashes while he was tied up to a post for misusing his food alotment. His back looked like he had been drug in his back behind a car for a few hundred yards.

Sadam took his kids down to the basements of prisons so they could watch prosoners get tortured. He did this to reward them.

I don't know what these prisoners did while they lived in Iraq but you can bet that they life isn't so bad over here compared to over there. No matter what the pictures appear to show.

This happens every day in the military on both sides of the battle line. What tickes me off about it is that these idiots decided to take pictures and video of them doing it. Of course we will have to do something about it since we are "better" than that. So these people get made examples of.

I don't agree with the treatment those prisoners received. When the U.S. uses these type of tactics it should be done in the hands of experienced interigators with set giudlines, not a bunch of yo-yo's taken pictures, videos, laughing etc..! This whole thing has been a slap in the face to the military as a whole, not to mention the degrading comments made in the press regards the "enlisted ranks". It has made the enlisted rank look like a bunch of Dumb Ass Thugs.

I was an enlisted man for 25 years. Whether you agree or disagree with the treatment given prisoners, you must agree it takes a real dumb bumpkin to take pictures, video or know it was being done while you conducted questionable acts on prisoners.
