RE: Pat Tillman killed by friendly fire
Many American and foreign fighters are killed by friendly fire in all wars. That does not diminish the cause, reason for the conflict or their loyality to their country.
I heard today that the estimate of friendly fire losses is as high as 20%. I believe that having seen it happen and been involved in a recovery of a NG patrol that was completely lost to the air support they themselves called for during an ambush. These things happen.
If you were old eniugh to witness Desert Storm you saw the percentage much highter there than any other conflict.
fng, You have a right to your opinion on this and any manner of subjects discussed here but for a period of time you seem to be struggling with your own demons of a sort which detracts from the value of your comments. Im not mentioning this for the first time and it is not because I disagree with you totally on this matter. You carry very little weight here and that is a shame because I believe at one time you were one of the best contributors, far more intelligent than myself. You may want you do a little self evaluation before judging the like of Mr Tillman.
He did not have to prove anything, my God, the man agianst the odds was a college football star, NFL player and demonstrated his loyalty to things he believed in when he passed up a much more lucrative contract with another NFL team to stay with the Cardinals because they demonstrated a faith in him. That is the type of man he was in all his endeavors. Why would anyone with a lick of sense think that would be different here?
