Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Pat Tillman killed by friendly fire

It seems Tillman was killed by a friendly fire incident along with an Afgan that was with Tillman's unit and mistaken for the enemy.

Friendly fire

I read and saw it.

I will get alot of heat for this. But this guy was NOT driven by "patriotism", he was driven by machismo.

FNG, I have no idea where your comment comes from. Is it so much against what you believe to believe someone could be driven by patriotism? Any machismo could have been satisfied in the NFL. I disagree with your statement that seems to be an attempt to draw flames, but thank God that men like Pat Tillman will fight so that asinine statements can be made.

the guy was a HERO, dont care how he died, he still sacrificed and fought for us. FNG what is patriotism? you dont have a clue what it is. you should be ashamed of yourself for saying that pat tillman is driven "machismo". FNG what have you ever sacrificed in your life? nada probably you just sit on a computer and say our soldiers are driven by machismo. well its ok FNG your driven by stupidity!

Or maybe bitterness that he turned down a 3 or 4 million dollar a year contract in the NFL. Jelousy??? By the way have you been able to find work yet? Maybe a little less time on the boards would be a good start.

Pat Tillman died for his country...for that he has my respect and admiration. He is not any more or any less a hero than the thousands that have died before him fighting for this country. People have the right to choose thier own heros, dont flame them because thier choice isnt your choice.

One question...I didnt know Pat T personaly...did you ?

FNG, Your becoming more and more bitter everyday. You might want to find some one you can vent or talk to before you explode and do something you'll be sorry for later.

Many American and foreign fighters are killed by friendly fire in all wars. That does not diminish the cause, reason for the conflict or their loyality to their country.
I heard today that the estimate of friendly fire losses is as high as 20%. I believe that having seen it happen and been involved in a recovery of a NG patrol that was completely lost to the air support they themselves called for during an ambush. These things happen.

If you were old eniugh to witness Desert Storm you saw the percentage much highter there than any other conflict.

fng, You have a right to your opinion on this and any manner of subjects discussed here but for a period of time you seem to be struggling with your own demons of a sort which detracts from the value of your comments. Im not mentioning this for the first time and it is not because I disagree with you totally on this matter. You carry very little weight here and that is a shame because I believe at one time you were one of the best contributors, far more intelligent than myself. You may want you do a little self evaluation before judging the like of Mr Tillman.

He did not have to prove anything, my God, the man agianst the odds was a college football star, NFL player and demonstrated his loyalty to things he believed in when he passed up a much more lucrative contract with another NFL team to stay with the Cardinals because they demonstrated a faith in him. That is the type of man he was in all his endeavors. Why would anyone with a lick of sense think that would be different here?

Friendly fire or enemy fire dead is dead. I believe the "hero" label is becoming overused.

The man died doing something he truelly believed in.
