Seems like Kerry's doing a fine job of p*ssing off his own constituents. Imagine how the rest of the country will feel if he lands the top job. Of course, by then, it'll be too late.
For years, the liberal warhorses of the state's all-Democratic Congressional delegation have thundered about how the average American worker was "one missed paycheck away" from homelessness. Now Rep. Michael Capuano blithely advises his constituents here to simply take the entire week off.
Kerry himself is facing the impending chaos with his usual aplomb. The would-be leader of the Free World said this week he was "surprised" that his hometown would face monumental gridlock.
Kerry now wants a "study" to see if the planned road-closings can be scaled back. He is "urging" the state to provide free subway and bus service "” a proposal that was ruled out months ago.
Why is it that Democrats always want some sort of study or investigation and nothing comes out of it ?

The republicans did that sort of study thing in the 90's.
All they got out of it was a report of something to do with a cigar, and no definative action on improving the state of intelligence gathering, given to us by--bite my toungue--the republican Ford, and CIA Director George HW Bush!
If is history is to be a teacher, then the republicans should look back to their track record--Every administration since FDR has started out with a recession. The largest and longest recessions in the past 100 years came during a rebulican administration, with better than half of those with at least a partially republican legislature.
If the Dems can't do anything without a study, they at least have a track record of a positive effect on the economy. I remember the mid 90's. It seemed to be a pretty good time for the economy.
But why do some republicans, they very ones who plowed into the stock market of the 90's complain about the tech sector being a "false market?" If you make the moves that drive up the prices and earn the profit, why complain?
Just a thought........

When they first said the convention was coming to Boston I laughed, Boston is a HORRIBLE city to push lots of people/traffic into. It is basically a hub with no organization to its roadways. Take any non-familiar person and dump them near Boston, give them directions to anywhere and turn them loose, they will soon hate you!
I live under an hour from Boston and the only place I will drive into is Logan, and that took a couple trips to get it all right, not just exits, but what lane to be in when to get across what road without killing yourself.

I also remember trying to buy a home during the Carter years (wasn't he a dem) and 17% mortgages.
Did you have a 401k or an IRA plan and did you notice a decline in it during mysteriously 1998-2000(Clinton Glory Years) before W took office? Just checking. Now I will agree that lately Republicans haven't been behaving like republicans should and have showed little or no fiscal responsibility. Come up with something better then Terry A@@hat McCauliff rhetoric. I can hear that crap all day long on ABC,NBC,CBS and the Clinton News Network.
