Wielding baseball bats and sticks, a mob in northwest Houston today chased down a man suspected of preying on neighborhood children in recent weeks.

"We know him. The whole neighborhood knows him," said Carlos Gonzalez.

Residents told police the 44-year-old man tried to lure children into his van last week while it was parked at a nearby elementary school. They also accused him of hugging a 12-year-old boy on Saturday while he was wearing women's clothing.

This guy is sick. I think it's great that the kids stood up for themselves. It's a possibly dangerous situation they put themselves in, but comendable. I didn't like the police comments. These kids may have went about the incident wrong by weilding sticks and ball bats, but look how effective it was.

i think the folks who took part should be commended for their efforts in taking the responsibility to ensure their children are safe. Hopefully the police dont just let this scumbag slide into another unsuspecting community.
