Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default thought i'd let y'all know

i see a lot of different comments on here dogging out different groups, most of which i like. so i thought i'd let you know i'm a tree-hugging, animal rights loving, environmentalist, BOW HUNTER who thinks the NRA (a group i used to belong to) is getting pimped by gun manufacturers to keep making money selling urban assault weapons to criminals. can y'all deal with that? even if you vehemently disagree? i can deal with y'all. can't be pretending i'm somebody i'm not. and i sure don't want to argue with anyone about any of it, just talk about hunting and working on bows. its just if i'm gonna be around here getting to know what y'all think - i ought to let you know what i think. gibblet

Well I am an ultra conservative right wing freak, and that my friend is the beauty of America. We all have an opinion and are entitled to them, however misguided they may be.

I am a lot like mez, but, I have somethings in common with you gibblet. I hug trees too, but only when I'm climbing them with my climbing tree stand. I also believe in animal rights, they have the right to try and avoid me otherwise they will be shot and eaten. I believe in not destroying America's hunting grounds too, I guess you could argue that I am an environmentalist. But, gibblet I personally hope that you are not so far left that you are left of the devil.....I don't believe that xy + xy is natural or normal. But that is just me and if you do, more power to you and more xx's for me.

hmmm, last time I checked, criminals couldn't buy guns from manufacturers, or even dealers. Therefore, gun manufacturers don't make any money from criminals. Of course, maybe if you still belonged to the NRA, you'd realize that.

Of course, I realize that since you're a self proclaimed "tree-hugging, animal rights loving, environmentalist", there's no way to convince you of anything. You also say you're a Bow Hunter. Must be tough living with all that internal conflict.

But, welcome to the boards.

PLB, we're conservationists, not enviromentalists. Enviromentalists believe that things should never be touched or changed. Conservationists believe in the wise use of those resources.

danny, good gosh, that makes no sense at all. well somehow these human hunting rifles have filled our inner cities, and they were all paid for from dealers at some point who bought them from manufacturers who are protected by the nra- who convinces its members, by spending a great deal of $, that gun issues are the most important thing to decide your vote. its all about the $ bro'.
i have no internal conflict about hunting. it all makes sense to me. i think animals, including us, should be FREE (and more and more we are not free). I don't like how our feed cattle and chickens live and get injected with tons of crap that we end up eating - you know - like growth hormones, or live in cages so small they can't walk. i have no problem with death - that is the issue with most people who are animal rights activists. i also don't like rabbits getting perfume and shampoo dripped in their eyes to see what it does. if those folks wouldn't put all the chemicals in the stuff we use and eat we wouldn't need to test it on animals - and all our relatives, like my mom - and either you or someone in your family, probably wouldn't have cancer. i am conflicted about medical testing, i certainly see its benefits and hope somehow we can find another way, but i'm a realist.

not all environmentalists think things should be untouched, WE THINK IT SHOULDNT BE POISONED. now look, there are freaking nut job environmentalists that think thinning out a forest that needs it is wrong -i'm not one of them, or animal rights activist that think that and hunting is wrong - I TALK TO THESE PEOPLE and rarely do i meet one - that after i explain what hunting free living animals is all about - that doesn't change the way they think about it. you may not agree with me - but i'm good for hunting in my own small way. and you wouldn't believe how surprised they are when they find out how much hunters do to protect lands they enjoy and how much of the $ for it comes from hunters.
MEZ - right on brother.
PLB - i could care less about someones preferences. i couldn't care less what color, orientation, how smart you are, what your job or education is... i judge people by how much love or hate they have in their heart and i do my darndest to keep people filled with hate away from my family - no matter their political views - and good honest, loving people close to it - no matter their political views. i disagree about almost everything with some people i'm close with, but they are good family oriented people and are FREE to think however they dang well want to. if theres a group that thinks like me - its indians - and the ones i've hung out with are either too angry for me to deal with or too damn arrogant. but my wife and i see things the same, and thats good enough for us. it doesn't bother me at all to disagree with any or most or all of you, but it would bother me to know you didn't get to know the real me.
any way, happy to be talking with y'all.love this forum. gotten so much good info already.

In some circles, such contradictions, unverified beliefs, and ramblings, would be considered to be advanced schizophrenia.
