Louisiana seeks to outlaw low-slung jeans
Britney Spears performs in low-riding jeans. Teen idol Britney Spears may have to rethink her wardrobe before visiting her home state of Louisiana, which is mulling new legislation to outlaw low-riding jeans that reveal underwear or too much skin.
Teen idol Britney Spears may have to rethink her wardrobe before visiting her home state of Louisiana, which is mulling new legislation to outlaw low-riding jeans that reveal underwear or too much skin.
The proposed bill, approved by the state's House Criminal Justice Committee last week, would outlaw wearing clothing in public that intentionally exposes undergarments or "any portion of the pubic hair, cleft of the buttock or genitals."
Violators would be required to carry out three days of community service at a local fire station and pay a fine of up to 175 dollars.
The bill is due to go before the full Louisiana legislature sometime during the current session, which ends June 21.
Local councilor Glenn Green, a staunch supporter of the bill, told the committee last week that teenagers' fashions had gone so far that legislation was needed to bring them back within the bounds of decency.
"I don't relish seeing the beginning of the crease of people's buttocks," local press reports quoted Green as saying. "And I don't enjoy watching young men letting their sexual organs show through their red or black silk underwear."

Mixed on this one. Against the so low that show gental areas but some low jeans look alright. Maybe they should just make it for no showing of Genital area that includes pubes. Makes more sense. They already have the indecent exposure. Just make an add on for pubes.
This is true in all of the states, no? I don't see any reason to ban low-ride jeans when we already have decency standards on the books. If they're showing genitalia, then arrest them. Simply showing skin is not cause for an arrest, IMHO.
How about us humans just got over our preconceived notion that our bodies are somehow bad and that we should feel ashamed of them.
How many of you have a cat or dog? How many times a day do you get to see its butthole? We all got the same things no matter what species we are. Why is it that our (human) bodies are the only ones that are bad?

RE: Louisiana seeks to outlaw low-slung jeans
I'm on a Div I campus, 12 months a year. We have approximately 15-20,000 students during the Spring & Fall semesters...
And all me and my older colleagues want to know is this...
Are today's teenage males immune to the amount of female bare skin revealed and the resulting sexual innuendo?
If not, how the hell do those poor boys get anything done in school?!

If they expose to much under current laws, arrest them. If it's just not your style, don't look at it or buy them for your kids.
or
When I see people dressed stupid, whether I know them or not, I just smile at them and say "Get a mirror" I get the finger once in a while or a dirty look but I always get to laugh
