GET THE MEDIA OUT OF THE WAR THEATER, or LEAVE THEM THERE???
I thought it would be interesting to take a poll on the issue. I will keep my own comments for a later time. Interested to see what others think and feel about the issue. Thanks

The media needs to be pulled. They are doing more to undermine or country's efforts than Iraqi bombmakers.

I will say the media needs to report all, the problem is they only report the bad and leave out all the humanitarian work that our folks are doing over there!

RE: GET THE MEDIA OUT OF THE WAR THEATER, or LEAVE THEM THERE???
I was there for the first war and the media was a pain in the a$$. Special orders are given to any unit that had media attached to it. They required equipement (some was in short supply) trucks, fuel, food(also in short supply), body guards, and they were always asking questions and keeping you away from your job. They held us back at every point and detail of our job.
RE: GET THE MEDIA OUT OF THE WAR THEATER, or LEAVE THEM THERE???
Let the media do what ever it thinks it needs to do as long as doesn't put our troops in harms way.
Let them provide their own protection etc. and stay out of the way.
Under no circumstances should they be inbedded with our troops.
Let our soldiers be soldiers and do their jobs.
RE: GET THE MEDIA OUT OF THE WAR THEATER, or LEAVE THEM THERE???
I feel that the media has it's place in a warzone ,
but they should provide their own equiment , guns , food , protection , etc. All of their reports should be screened before release to insure that there won't be another embarrassing Rivera incident to endanger the troops . Before anyone starts squalling about the First Ammendment bear in mind that words can literally kill when it's your enemy reading them . If they chose to go there they would automatically forfeit that particular right for the sake of the troops .

I don't think there's any reason to try and force them to pull out, but they should be on their own, IMHO. I don't believe they have a place side by side with our soldiers. If they want a story, then can go out and find it themselves.
RE: GET THE MEDIA OUT OF THE WAR THEATER, or LEAVE THEM THERE???
Since them being there and censored for obvious reasons is not going to happen IMO, I feel they need to be out of the immediate theater of war. But that is just my opinion and we all know what those are like.

In the words from a movie.
"Keep your friends close and your enemies closer"
I don't think imbeded reporters were a problem. It's when they are walking around trying to find or manufacture a headline that they become a problem.
