Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Get Outdoors Act

The U.S. House is reconsidering a bill that would grant the federal government authority to buy up private rural lands in the name of preventing obesity. It seems our all-knowing leaders on the hill think that all fat people need to get into shape is some federal hiking areas. Of course, do you think the feds will still allow us to hunt there? Are you willing to take the chance?

With all due respects.....OBESITY IS NOT A FEDERAL ISSUE!!!!!

To think the obese will use these lands for weight control is just another insult to be handed the taxpayer.

Oh man, where do I start?

It's not the governments job to make sure that kids aren't fat, nor is their responsiblity to spend millions (billions more than likely) to help prevent it by "buying land for them to exercise on". AND last but not least, it is not the governments job to give us a place to go hunting. Yes I believe state and federal lands are "ours" and we should be allowed to hunt most of them but it is by no means their job to supply us with a place to hunt. So I would hate to think someone would be talked into this "because we'll get to hunt there".

The government doesn't need to buy anymore land. They are proving they don't know how to manage the land they have. There is my 2 cents.lol

No problem, but I must say that I'm a lot more aware of things because of mailing lists. I try to keep track of current events as much as possible, but sooner or later something slips under the radar until GOA or VCDL emails me. I recommend them to anyone who wants to be prepared to fight against legislation affecting gun owners and shooting sportsmen.

In any case, I've certainly given my rep a piece of my mind, and I thank you all for also sharing your thoughts.

If any body ought to know the dangers of being FAT then the House of Reps should know.
