I try to not post anything that is mean to anyone.....but......Michael Jackson has got to be the exception.....sorry......but.....I can't take it anymore.....
I just saw on the news where he was coming out of the court house & there were fans still cheerin him on.[:@]
What gives with this stupid society that we exalt people who are famous & have lots of money even when they are the scum of the earth?.....

Now MJ is still 'innocent' until proved guilty in court. In regards to his fans, they're so star-struck that they'll support him even if he is convicted. I can hear it now, "That jury is racist, pure and simple!"
I try not to condem him until his day in court, but it is awful hard not to .
Right, I agree to that, but, I mean the whole star struck thing with people...not just MJ, but, why is it that we humans can't see past the star struck thing when it comes to people??

People want celebrity role models, rich and famous people whom a fan can try and identify with. It goes back to the follower mentality. "If it's good enough for this successful person, then it must be good enough for me!"
Maybe I'm opening a can of worms here, but it's pretty much how I view organized religion.
You're not opening a can of worms, you opening a topic which would best not be addressed on this thread and is way off topic. I would request you delete that portion of your post and please stay on topic.
As for MJ, he has already proven you can buy your way out of jail with a $25 million settlement 12 or 13 years ago. The man/woman/whatever it is, is SICK!!

Request denied. I'm speaking about followers here, whether they're chasing celebrities or deities.

I have never followed blindly, but by the heart. I would not be involved with an organized religion, except I have seen first hand the works done in my life by the all mighty. I will agree to some extent with your comments, in respect with cult type followers. Ex. James town, KKK, Yawa, Branch devidian, etc..

This amazes me also. But there are alot of warped people out there. Look at all the convicted murderers and serial killers who get love letters and proposals from hundreds of women. I know infamous women criminals have the same thing happen too. It's a sick, sick world we are living in.

And don't forget Amway salesmen. Those people are relentless.

I'm sure my post is a bit inflammatory to a lot of people here, but I'm not saying that everyone is a blind follower. My point is that a lot of people want to follow. It gives them a path towards their destination in life. I'm trying to give a little insight on the psychology behind the phenomenon, since it's so prevalent (as we can see with MJ's fans).
