It was when I was in school, rural Arkansas.

That said, I don't think it should, its the parents responsibility to teach gun safety, not the school, state or govt. Do it in an after school class or something might work ....

I am strongly against hunter safety classes in our schools. With the way things are going in our education system now, I think this would have great potential to come back and haunt us. Let the parents and states' DNR handle things. There's no reason for it to go into yet another group's hands.

I will leave this topic here. If you would please vote in the poll pinned to the top and give your opinions. If not I will remove the poll at the top.

I believe the 4hs teach one here. Not exactly in school, but associated with it.

I am still learning how to use a few of these newer tools........this will be the official poll!!!! Please vote here!!
By the way, I see no problem with the way states handle safety classes but, if more students would have access to hunter safety classes and pay their way, I have no problem with it being optional.......as long as state certified hunting safety instructors can teach it.
