In my thinking you can be behind the troops, wishing them well, sending prayers thier way, but not wanting them in harms way over something you don't agree with

well its not a lie but the bigger lie these days are how these liberals supposedly support our troops but claim IRAQ as a huge failure. that one always confused me.
Am I the only one that sees the inherent lies in such a statement?
That's not a lie at all. The speaker is saying that he/she wishes the best for our soldiers, but at the same time disagrees with the leadership. Don't confuse the paper-pushers in Washington with the grunts on the ground in Iraq.
I think someone can oppose the leadership or the administration, and support the troops. It is possible. But to do so, one must tread lightly. Such a person's voice of protest can undermine the mission, and endanger the troops. So, Any support the person claims for the troops is moot. It's impossible to support the troops you helped to kill.
If I were against Iraq, and a person asked me about it I would say so. But I would not tell a reporter, and I would not participate in the poll. I would still pray for the soldiers, send baby wipes, toiletries, etc. through local organizations, but I would write my representatives about my opinions, and I would vote against the administration.
Son, I don't think you are making the right choice to become a +++++++++ but I will support you in anyway I can to accomplish your goal.
You ever done that? If so you were not lying, you were being extremely honest. I do support the actions of our President therefore it is easier to profess my support for the troops and be believed. Believing the example in bold, I can believe that many, not all, of those opposed to the action in the middle east do support our troops.
There will always be some that want to see failure at any one elses cost to support their idea but only those on the extreme left. But they are phony to start with and all their word ring hollow. Thank God they are the exception not the rule.
