Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Okay, how about this "Mike" ....

* complaint #1 was dismissed with the reason "items were recieved"
* murbelzer sent me $25 dollars yesterday through Paypal with the description as "setllement"
* murbelzer actually sent Paypal an email saying he'd recieved the box although it was damaged
* murbelzer left 3 negative feedbacks to me - not once mentioning items not recieved

Unbelievable, it really is. Ya'll watch these fools, unless you put delivery confirmation on items shipped you will lose regardless if items were recieved or not.

So I have 17 current auction, sold $6,000 worth of stuff on EBAY in the past 6 months and as of Today Paypal will never get a dime of my money again. Funny, they seem to be eagar to satisfy the Buyer who never pays Paypal a dime and don't have any problems screwing the Seller who DOES pay Paypal ... up to 5-6% of the total transaction.

Ya'll watch 'em, never send without a confirmed address and delivery confirmation

If you would have just shiped in a timely manner and put all the books in the box you wouldn't have this problem.

At least I must say that I am glad you shared this with us. It has been a great learning experance for me. I have been thinking about doing the E-bay thing and will rethink this some more. Sorry to here the news.

Stealthy: I have been reading about your problems with PayPal.
Sorry to hear you lost your claim.
I know now why some of my friends have said never to use PayPal.

The worst thing about Paypal is when you sign their Agreement you give them rights to dip into your bank account and retrieve funds if they see fit. They call it payment reversal ... but its taking money from your account for whatever reason they see fit.

Watch these bastards if you use Paypal.

Dangit, sorry to hear that Stealthy, I was rooting for you. But in reality you aren't suprised and neither am I. You're right, you've got to watch Paypal and I agree that they have some policies and such that I don't like at all. However, I don't see how you can use Ebay without them. I just flat refuse to buy from anyone who doesn't use Paypal. And when I'm selling I hate to wait on people to send me money orders. I'd rather give Paypal their cut and get the transaction over with asap. I'm just curious how you are going to go on "ebaying" without Paypal?

I used Paypal once, but really don't like it. I accept money orders and cashiers checks when selling and use money orders/cashiers checks when buying. If a seller accepts Paypal only, then I figure I don't really need it, and if a buyer only wants to use Paypal, then he don't really need it. 90% of my sales have been within archery/hunting and the same for me buying. I have not ripped anybody off and nobody has ripped me off.

I sold my wiggle wart collection and over $6000 worth of stuff on EBAY in the past 6 months .... and almost all of it without Paypal. Yes, slower, but it works well. i was surprised that 9 of 10 people use Paypal now when buying/selling EBAY .... thats huge, huge ammounts of money Paypal is getting.

I can open another Paypal account, but not Premier and as long as I am account to account they cannot chanrge me. The trick there though is that most people want to pay with credit cards - which require Premier accounts, which gives Paypal their cut. I might go this route, but I will close my account this week like I have said I would

Some would say that your actions were simply based on laziness and sloth.

In the future you should shoulder your purchases and run them to the recipient yourself. If they don't pay, you carve their liver out and take it to the nearest hospital for donation where a finders fee could be had.

If that doesn't work, kill yourself because you're a loser.

What you are refering to is called a "charge back".

There are two sides to an issue like this...You have the card holder and the merchant account

American express is the worst, as a "Merchant" to deal with. But thats another topic.

When the card holder makes a purchase, and then is not satisfied with the services that they received, then they can simply contact the credit card company and have the charges reversed, or.. "Charged Back." It is then up to the merchant to "Prove" that they furnished the services in question.

Pay-Pal is simply a middle man in this process. If you, as a vendor do not have the resources or credit or the just don't want a merchant account with the credit card companies, then your options are to take cash, checks, or money orders.

Pay-pal is no more than a "Merchant" who processes a credit card on your behalf, and then deposits the money into an account for you...minus a small fee.

If the credit card holder contacts the credit card company requesting a charge back, then pay-pal has no other option than to make the charge back...In fact, Pay-pal was charged back before you were, as they are the merchant account not you. Soooo...Pay-pal must prove to the credit card company that the charge was legitamate. It's your job to provide pay-pal with the information that they need to prove their case.

In this case, you did not provide the proof, hence,,,you lost.

I would think of this as a learning experience...Here are a couple of options for you in the future. Include the cost of shipping into the total...UPS ground can ship just about anywhere and is very cost effective AND you have proof of shipping and insurance.

And,

You might also think about opening a credit card "Merchant" account...thereby processing the credit cards yourself.
