This happens every year at this time. People are fishing, turkey hunting, preparing for the bear seasons, school activities, mowing lawns(grrr), doing outside work, traveling, spending time on the ranges, and perhaps more time at work due to overtime. Besides......we all have to take time to eat and sleep.
It comes and goes, buckmine. Turkey is starting up for many of us as well as walleye and steelies. Time to get outside again. I find I don't visit the bowhunting or deerhunting forums as much as I do in season - you're right - lots of rehashed stuff. The Politics room holds my interest, some times more than others.

I think it's the weather, too. Alot of people just become lazier and more boring. I've also noticed that some people tend to lose their sense of humor and get really grouchy.

Are there any good spots for an out-of-stater like me to come and hunt deer on neer you? I think I would like to give Minnesota another try. I had a poor experiance the first time. Mostly because of the guy that took me.
Northern Minnesota gives you space and a lot of free land. Trouble is you have to be a true hunter. I could show you a place where you would probably have two square miles to yourself. We last hunted there as a family in 91. I go back there every once in awhile.
If we lose huunters in our group(father, nephews) I have asked my brother if he minded if I could invite fellow huntingnet folks like yourself. We have 120 acres and that is surrounded by another 100 acres of swamp. And so far it is my brother and I and one of his sons that have been regulars. Problem is my father would never go for it.
Public land is no problim for me as long as there are a few deer to keep my intrest and not a hunter every 20 acres. I will have to see how my $$ are going to add up(or down) for this fall. If I think that I will hunt Minnesota I will try and set up a late summer trip for a little scouting with you if you don't mind. I shure appreciate the thought on the 120 but don't want to impose at all. If you have a good thing going then keep it going in a good way.
