Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Is the media bias towards Dems or Rep.

Every one remembers the mess Lott got into when he praised Thurman. It
was plastered on the news for weeks as to how his praise of Thurman made him a racist. The media made such a stink, it pretty much forced the Rep. to can him as the majority leader under the P.C. shroud. Now we have Dodd, a Dem., who praised Byrd on his 1000 vote. Dodd praised Byrd for his work on Civil rights. Byrd was a member of the KKK, and voted against the Civil rights act.

My question is why dont we hear about this?

by the way, Im neither Rep. or Dem.. I vote common scense.

I have always thought that the media was a little left of center personally. I am no political guru, but I have heard lots of people who keep up with that stuff talk about how liberal most media sources are.

The media? 86% voted for algore that makes them far, far left as a whole. Look at nbc, abc, cbs , msnbc , cnn. The only media that isn"t left is talk radio and that"s because radio makes you think you can"t just sit there and vedge out looking at a tube.

Well...since you said "media"...I'll post for ya.

As a whole, I think that television media is far more liberal. MTV, BET, CNN, are two extremely liberal stations...for obvious reasons.

Katie Couric, Peter Jennings, Oprah, Friends, Will and Grace, are all liberal. TV in general, is way liberal. All except for Fox News. They get a rap for being "conservative" when I really don't think they are. I think that they are more moderate, or actually, show a conservative and liberal view on things, instead of just putting out a straight-liberal agenda. (That might be the only time that I ever have "straight and liberal" in the same sentence again )

Away from TV and on to...let's see...good ol radio. The radio media is probably more conservative IMO. Conservative talk shows are extremely popular on the radio. Liberal ones hardly ever make it. Why? I'm not sure...perhaps when people actually listen to what conservatives have to say, as opposed to liberals, one would always side with the conservative arguments because they make more sense. You all know the conservative talk show people...Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter...

Printed media...

Most major magazines seem to be more liberal then conservative. NY Times, LA Times, all that good stuff. But then there is NewsMax, Whistleblower, and those types, that are more conservative. So this will get a toss-up from me. Hillary Clinton's book sold...Sean Hannity's and O'Reilly's books sold...all print media sells. Books, may be more conservative. Magazines are probably more liberal. So print media...we'll put as "Moderate."

Movies...

Almost all directors, actors, and movies are liberally biased...

There are a few who aren't liberal/socialist/communist, but they're few and far in between.

That's my synopsis of the ordeal...enjoy...

I believe the major media, with very few exceptions, has a liberal bias. Not a Dem. or Rep. bias, but biased AGAINST anything that smacks of conservative values, or is "politically incorrect"![:@]

I don't think there is any doubt that the so-called "national media" has a bias against the right. The question is... why? For that matter, why does 86% of the national media vote Democrat? I can tell you that the same isn't true on a smaller scale. In our office, 100 percent - to a man - vote Republican. Major newspapers show their liberal slant more often than not. We have three in Tennessee (Knoxville News Sentinel, Nashville Tennessean and the Memphis Commercial Appeal) and all three are liberal. Not as liberal as the national newspapers like the Washington Post, etc., but too liberal. So the question is... why? For some reason, and I'm not sure what or when, these newspapers decided that they were big enough and powerful enough to get away with things like that. Newspapers that serve a smaller market typically aren't like that. I've worked for a couple of the most liberal managing editors you can imagine and they would have never dreamed of using their newspaper to push their liberal viewpoints except in editorials, which were balanced by conservative editorials, for fear that they would lose readership. So I guess the good thing is that this liberal slant in the media hasn't hit the smaller stage yet.

That said, the best thing to do is trash them national newspapers and national news television programs and watch/listen to/read your local news sources.

Isn't it hilarious that the liberal media owes it's ability to say whatever they want to the conservatives who framed our Constitution ?
