what is an assult weapon . it is a weapon of any type that is used in the assult of another human being. if i were to attack some one with a coffee mug, then the coffee mug should be band from the use of every one , right . that is the way law makers look at it . heres my simple solution to the criminal problems. if some one walks out of a bank and opens fire on police and civilians , then drop him like a bad habit. if a crack head wants to pull a gun on an officer ,then the officer should take the nessacery actions. he shouldnt have to wait for a negotiator or a superior. its time to stop passing laws and start punishing crimes and criminals.its not high volumes of firepower that gets people to rape, steal ,and kill, its the fact that they know they can get away with it when they do get caught.dont punish me and my kind,simply beter equip and train the cops and give the criminals somthing to fear more than a free ride. my weapons and i dont assult, we defind when all else fails.

It would be interestingalbieit impossible to know the actuall numbers of humans killed since we left the graden of eden or left the cave take your pick, by firearm as opposed to sharp rocks and sharp sticks. My money is rocks and sticks.
Actually there IS a class of firearms defined as Assault Rifles, they are NOT what is covered by the AR ban. Not exactly what the military definition is, but I believe it has to be full auto or at least a selector switch to go full auto.
