Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Global Warming

I am sick and tired of people not believing this to be a possibility.

We humans are a cancer on this earth and we have the capability to harm it, as we have done the last 100 years.

Global warming will not happen over a span of twenty years. It will take a slow progression. Stop thinking of the now, like 8th graders and at least acknowledge it is a possibility.

Qoute from another thread.

I think global warming is a big lie. Where are all those experts now, when I'm freezing my ass off during these long winters and paying, paying, paying?

While I won't say that global warming is a lie, I will say that the earth used to covered in ice many moons ago.

The eruption of one volcano contributes more to the destruction of the ozone layer than all the pollutants created by man since day one. Now when you come up with a way of controlling that we'll talk.
Life on this planet will end as a result of natural selection, face it. The thing is you don't want it to end in your life time or in the period of time when anyone who knew your name is still alive. That way they can't blame you.

Really?
Almost all of the warming in global temperatures in the last 100 years occurred before the year 1940.

Most of the volume of the planet earth is seething hot- the core is as hot as the surface of the sun, only the outer thousand miles or so of crust are what we would call habitable temperatures. So a few cars (or in your case, SUVs) driving around on a paper thin surface of a planet made mainly of molten iron is going to drastically raise temperatures, yet energy and gasses from a volcano releasing molten material from deep inside the earth isn't a factor?

If people don't believe you that we are causing global warming, maybe it is you that tat needs to check your premises.

A neat factoid-
The Vikings settled Greenland over 1000 years ago.
They were able to sustain themselves on farming and specifically dairy farming.
Over a couse of about 50 years, the temperatures dropped rapidly ad their society on the island collapsed because the climate was too cold to support the type of farming they were doing. Greenland's climate is still too cold to support the type of farming the Vikings were doing 1000 years ago. I'm guessing that our global temperatures are actually lower than they were overall a millenium ago.

Global warming/cooling is a natural part of nature- only a fool would tink that we can influence it on any kind of scale let alone change the course of the change.

buckmine, this link, http://www.greeningearthsociety.org/...4/wca_15f.html may give you some clue as to why people don't take this very seriously. When these people get their act together and begin doing solid research based on real evidence backed by proper scientific methodology, they will be taken seriously. Until then they will continue to be considered a bunch of self serving crackpots with an agenda.

Global warming is a hoax, a farse, something to do for those who have nothing better to do.

Did the earth warm up 3 degrees between the years 1450 and 1550 AD ? Hmmmm ? Its possible that the earth cycles through warming and cooling and that ANY temp changes are normal.

Ozone layer, earth warming, overcrowding ..... people will believe anything ........
