Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

that is a nationwide problem. Another little wonderfact that the doc won't tell you (if he even knows it) is that roughly 80% of all prescription drugs work effectively on only about 10% of the population. Ie: most prescription drugs are worthless for the majority of people.

Where have you seen these statistics? I find it difficult to believe that the FDA would approve drugs that treat only a minority of the research subjects. Don't get me wrong, I think the FDA has made mistake on a lot of things, but this seems a little much to me.

I also wonder how many people die of allegic reactions to medication?

Ihad an allergic reaction to a strong antibiotic prescribed to me earlier this year. Was one of the most miserable and painful weeks of my life recovering from it.

Quote:
DUI related deaths involving alcohol - 3 total for 5 years.
(This figure does not include DUI deaths involving prescription drugs)

Prescription drug overdose deaths apprx. 10 per year
Just speaking as a math teacher, these are misleading statistics. Deaths due to driving under the influence compared to overdoses? I assume the goal is to show some perspective in contrasting perscriptions drug deaths to alcohol related deaths. But a true comparison would compare overdoses to overdoses. Perhaps alcohol poisoning or narcotic overdoses to perscription drug overdoses.
