MOTHER'S DAY EVENTS
Steps of the U.S. Capitol, Sunday, May 9


Join us on the west front of the U.S. Capitol on Mother's Day to bring our Halt the Assault message to the front door of Congress. This day will be an opportunity to tell Congress to Halt the Assault on our safety, our families, and our gun laws.

The day will start at 10:00am with an Interfaith Service where all faiths will be welcome. Among the various forms of prayer, the Service will contain a call to prayer, readings from various traditions, music and hymns, and prayers of remembrance for those who have died from gun violence.

Throughout the day we will listen to speakers share their stories of how violence has impacted their lives and how the gun lobby has assaulted their lives and families.

Informational booths and other visual elements will be peppered throughout the area.

The event site is wheelchair accessible and interpreters will be on-hand for the hearing impared.

Let's join each other on Mother's Day for an opportunity to remember and recognize those affected by gun violence, and to let Congress know we are here and we must Halt the Assault

When will people get a clue that there is no such thing as gun violence. There is violence and there are guns, but I've never known of a gun committing anything. People do. People will commit violence with fists, feet, sticks, tire tools, etc. Knida like "Hate Crimes", seems to me that all crime towards another stems from hate.

When will people get a clue that there is no such thing as gun violence. There is violence and there are guns, but I've never known of a gun committing anything. People do. People will commit violence with fists, feet, sticks, tire tools, etc. Knida like "Hate Crimes", seems to me that all crime towards another stems from hate.

This is all common sense to lawful gun owners and sportsmen like ourselves, but the mommies believe only what they want to believe. They have personal objections to gun ownership, and they think that they have authority to speak on behalf of all Americans. The simple truth is that they're in denial of our Constitution, they look for so-called statistics that support their objectives (while ignoring the rest of the data), and they want to enforce their doctrines upon the nation as a whole. In short they are childish, narrow-minded, and poorly educated in government and civics.

The solution? Keep letting the politicians and the public know that we love our way of life, we obey the law, and we keep criminals scared!

As usual, they might get a few hundred to actually show up, claim that there was a huge crowd of gun-control enthusiasts there and the media will give it lots of coverage while agreeing with their lies.

They should've watched John Stossel's piece a couple weeks ago about gun control--it blows them outta the water!
