Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Second amendment

I've been thinking that it should be changed, or "re-amended." The language is antiquated, and the problems that the country faced when it was written don't really exist now. Plus, we've got a great national guard -- no need for a well regulated militia any more. Maybe replace the 2nd with an amendment protecting access to single shot arms and muzzle loaders for hunters and enthusiasts. You should only need one shot anyway.
That' just my two cents.

I would add to the amendment that all gay marriages are not only to be recognized by all, but it would be illegal for a church to refuse to marry such a couple. It would help us all become more sensitive to other cultures and sexual orientations.

I would change the 1st amendment also. We all talk too much and spend way too much time on internet boards. Its should be the role of newspapers and the big 3 broadcast stations to determine what is important to know and make it illegal to disagree with their facts. We could all be more productive if we volunteered our time for the common good rather than bickering about petty issues.

No way in Hell! We should disband the National Guard and reinstitute the state militia structure. I think we should be allowed to own any firearm we want. Remember, as long as you use it responsibly, there is no problem. If someone breaks the law, lock him up.

"What, Sir, is the use of a militia? It is to prevent the establishment of a standing army, the bane of liberty.... Whenever Governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins." --Rep. Elbridge Gerry, Annals of Congress at 750, August 17, 1789

As long as we're at it, we could separate families in single sex housing units, control the number of kids a couple can have, elect a gay female president, let ALL the Mexicans in and give them new SUVs and allow them not to pay taxes, and just ban all hunting. Sounds good to me.

The National Guard cannot be considered a well regulated militia for the people. The president can call up the national guard at any time and they no longer belong to the people or the state. They become federal employees and then the people have no militia. Governor Wallace tried to use the Alabama National Guard to stop intergration at the University of Alabama but President Johnson stopped him by activating the Alabama Guard and putting them under federal command.
My point is the 2nd amendment guarantees the right for the people to form a well regulated militia but the national guard can't be put in that category because of its ties to the federal government. The president can take it away at any time.
The only thing I would add to the second amendent is that any citizen of the United States that is not a felon has the right to own as many f...... guns as they want to.
Brima, it is Aprils fool and I'm sure that's where your headed.

Maryland is definitely headed down that road. [:@][:'(]We need to do something before it is too late.
I know ...let's call in the militia to take care of stupid, uninformed politicians that make up these rediculous laws against our 2nd ammendment
