Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default I hate being this way....

But what kind of slither-on-your-belly scum-of-the-earth human beings? would drag the half charred remains of civilian contractors through their streets and then hang them from a bridge so all can see? It makes it hard to believe that there are really deserving people for a peaceful democratic society in Iraq. All I can think of at the moment is one great big bomb might just take care of it all.
These people's hatred and disrespect for life is certainly having an effect on me and I don't like it.

There is no such thing as civilized thought among Middle Eastern muslims. They have been taught hate all their life, and it's all they know.

I have been feeling the same way. It takes all I can, to keep from
developing an extreme hatred towards a group of people. I keep telling my
self that the media is focusing on the bad. We seldom see the normal every
day people who appreciate the help. Keep you chin up.

People who are pissed off their country has been overrun by a foreign power - uh, that be us, the United States. I figure I'd be pissed too if Canada decided GW BUsh was a bad leader, overran our country and then occupied the streets and cities with no resolution or end in site fo me, Joe American.

I can easily see where the hatred comes from, i imagine the people in Iraq are past the point of boiling

BINGO Stealthy you win the prize. It's not too difficult to understand if you put yourself in the Iraqi's situation.
Great reply.

I think you are dead wrong! The 10% of the people who were Saddam followers are upset that they no longer are in power and do not have the protection of the government any longer to shield them from the rest of the people who they brutilized. I'd fight too if i knew my days were numbered as many of them are.

Stealthy,

I think you are dead wrong! 70 to 80 % of the people are glad we came and are still there. The Saddam followers who have been in power and the priviledged part of the irag society for the past 30 years are not. Pretty easy to see why they are against us being there. Its not going to be easy to overcome some of the things they have done if they are no longer in power and don't have the protection of the government. If I was them I'd be fighting too.

After reading some of these posts it is easy to discern the insidious effects of modern "public education" coming to fruition!

I suppose some of you really believe the majority of average Iraqi's are upset Saddam is no longer in power?!?! Next you'll be trying to convince us that the average Cambodian was sad to see Pol Pot out of power!?!?

This particular group of people are no longer the beneficiaries of the Baathist party's monopoly on power. And they don't like it! But it is not the reaction of the average Iraqi.

Ignorance must truly be bliss! (And those that for mere political expediency would "prostitute morality"......are whoreson!)

Whats the situation?
So yall see a justafacation to slaughter ppl in the streets like cattle ? Like those contractors& OUR troops& others ?
Understandable?
I can see resentment etc maybe by some& other problems . I can also see all the good things we try to do& have done.

Ya we are there to win there hearts& minds- rebuild there country, feed them, give them medical care , & give them freedoms they never had & a chance to have a higher standard of living then most americans will have. .. while they slaughter us in the streets .

And some americans think its justafied even....sure we will win there( the iraq etc) hearts& minds.

By the way we do occupy a few other places- have since the end of ww2& the korean war& the cold war. Guess they better get with the program& start killing americans & others in the streets too[:@]

It is not a minor poltical point....no i do not understand it, do my son& other american troops seem like jack boot nazi to some of you?(if the poltical sulutions is not perfect?)

You will have to excuse me if i take it personal, those are our , OUR sons , brothers, uncles , daughers out there risking there lives& limbs& dieing& being maimed dayly For you.
