Default Boone and Crockett - what's the rest of the story?

Just saw a rather cool show on History Channel on these two cats. Very interesting indeed. One thing they did not cover and I'll admit that I don't know - who put these two guys together to form what us hunters know as the infamous "Boone & Crocket" score book for animals?

Thanks reylamb, great link. Kind of funny that a two hour show on a well known channel doesn't give the whole story on what these two names mean to hunters. Why talk about hunting too much you know?

Is Boone's farm still in existence? Do they still make fine wine? [8D]
