Dick Cavett show..John Oneill vs John Kerry June 1971

Wow,

Did anybody see that on C span?

I seen it very late sunday night.

John Oneill was a naval LT. served in Vietnam 67-70. He was 25
Coastal Div 11 . 18 months...on the rivers. After Kerry served.

1) Oneill was responding to comments Kerry had made after Kerry came home. Kerry had said war crimes are a rule...not a exception. Oneill called Kerrya little man and that was a big Lie. He also called him a Coward...which I don't know why he called him that... I just caught the end of that statement.

2) Oneill said Kerry was hurting the our POWs by saying American soldiers were committing war crimes ...as the North Vietnam was using that against our POWs.

3) Oneill acused Kerry of advancing his political carrer by making such statements.

4) Oneill read a comment that Kerry made that said America has created a Monster because of all the war crimes.

5) Oneill said Kerry was now buddies with the guys that were responable for getting us in involved in the war.

6) Oneill say if Kerry had any proof of any wrong doing ...he should have reported it. Like any good American should.


John Kerry 1968-69 four months in Vietnam He was 27.
Coastal Div 11. 4 months...on the rivers before Oneill served.


1) Kerry was surprised by Oneill's attitude

2) Kerry said we could insult each other but the real issue was getting out of Vietnam. Kerry said the rebs (Nixon was waiting for election to announce our troops getting out of Vietnam) .. By doing that Kerry said it was costing American lives.

3) Kerry said a decorated officer had seen crimes. Kerry acted as if the officer had control of alot of territory. Oneill said the officer didnt control but a small area...and Oneill admitted there were a small amount who had...like William Calley but Kerry was trying to make it much worse.

4) Kerry tried to embarrassed Oneill IMO when he asked him if he knew what a Free fire Zone was and if he has ever been in one. I say that because Kerry being on the rivers 4 month and Oneill being there 18 months.

5) Kerry asked Oneill if he had been on such and such river on seen the huts on fire. Oneill said he been on every river Kerry has been on and has never huts on fire.( they were talking about the civilian homes)

6) Kerry did say that he never saw any atrocities himself...but only heard of them.


I know I have missed some information.


C span have John Oneill on the phone...He said he being honest and wanted truth to be heard. He said it will be interesting for some people that wasn't born yet during that time to see it. He also said he was the second guy chosen to debate Kerry...I first guy couldn't I didn't get the reason.

They also had Dick Cavett on the phone and he thought Oneill was being honest also.


I'm a Republican always have been always will be.

but if you guys are on the fence IMO iif you get a chance it see it ...I would do so.

This has nothing to do with the debate but I found it interesting... when Oneill sat down he crossed his leg over his other leg like a man should do. Kerry sat down and crossed his leg over the other like women do. he never changed.

If I have anything wrong....I didn't mean it I'm trying to be accurate.

I saw part of it before(somewhere) not on c span- wish i could see it all.
I just shows the real kerry for what he is- jane fonda boy wanna be.
Someone who will do& say anything to be in the press& spotlight.

Millionaire, sissy boy liberal. Kerry did 4 months in Vietnam? I respect the fact that he served, but if you listen to all the hype about his military career you'd think he was McAuthur!

Kerry is like McArthur, only spent less time in uniform.
