Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default U.S. troops buying own armor for Iraq duty

What a crock .....way to support our troops

Soldiers headed for Iraq are still buying their own body armor -- and in many cases, their families are buying it for them -- despite assurances from the military that the gear will be in hand before they're in harm's way.

Last October, it was reported that nearly one-quarter of American troops serving in Iraq did not have ceramic plated body armor, which can stop bullets fired from assault rifles and shrapnel.

The politicians can sure rack up campaign money but we cant pay for our troops to have live saving armor ? Whats wrong with this picture ?

Yep, this is crock!
For a short time some soldiers did not have the lastest and greatest but they did have body armor. Now they all have it. We have enough to give some other in theater.
Where were these families supposed to be buying this body armor if the military couldn't.
I talk to GI's and civilians everyday that have been to Iraq, some twice, and I tend to believe them over the media, which is where I first heard this stuff.
