Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Do you believe ANY politician?

The recent debates and talking about what we take to heart out here got me thinking - do you believe anything that ANY politician has to say? For me, I guess I approach all politics with the "lesser of two evils" type of attitude. It's really funny to listen to the two camps out there right now - hogwash from both sides as far as I'm concerned. I heard this morning Kerry claiming that he will produce 4 million jobs in 4 years if elected. Does anyone actually believe this? I mean, if the best of the best economic outlook guys out there are predicting the loss of 6 million jobs over the course of the next 5 years, does this in turn mean that Kerry is actually going to create 10 million jobs?

Can we trust a politician? I'm not saying they are all bad eggs. Just wondering what everyone thinks.

Forgot something - what do you think about approaching this from a Biblical outlook? In other words, (sorry, don't have the verse off the top of my head), God says we are to obey and submit to authority over us, even government. So should we? When is it that our politicians and leaders of this country are stepping over the edge and we can stop listening, or obeying (gun control, etc..)?

Politicians lie. They always have and always will. They also tell the truth a lot too. And they also spin the truth. There is no getting around it. Just follow the ones you agree the most with, or oppose the ones you disagree most with.

By the way, how can you tell if a politician is lying?

Only when they say that another politician is lying

I personally don't trust politicians once they get past city alderman of a small community.

Actaully, he might not be far off on this one. Lets see, he can probably get atleast 4 million back on welfare, that counts as a job, right?

I don't believe that at all, with my foil hat firmly in place I will say that the Roman Catholics added that one in

There was only ONE politician that I knew who I believed....

Back in the 70's as kid in upstate NY, I knew a friend of my dad's who actually earned enough, made a big enough name for himself, that he actually tried to run for state congress in NY. He was great guy too, and a common everyday guy like you and me. My sister and I went to school with his kids.

I don't know if he's still alive anymore, but he never said a bad word about anyone. Everyone liked him and wanted him to make it. But, once he "entered the ring" as the saying goes, he got KILLED in the polls. They trashed him, chewed him up and spit him out, all in the matter of a couple weeks time! [:@][:'(] He got so upset with how nasty and backstabbing politics can be, he just withdrew and said, "forget it, never again". How sad that that is how the political world is played.

Funny world we live in and who get to the top and how. My friend's dad is a great guy who has an extensive knowledge of the constitution and tax laws. He ran for a county position a few years back. He was campaigning at a municipal park one day - part of his campaing efforts was simply handing out tracts of the constitution. Didn't have his name on it, just simply wanted to remind the people about this important document. The police came and forced him to close up shop and leave because he was handing the constitution out. He even received a fine. I really can't remember the charge but the point is the same - can't hand out the constitution on public grounds. Sick.

BTW, he lost the election. To honest of a man I guess.
