Well good they werent trying to reinact the movie.( quite a few yrs back the did find a guy spiked to the side of a mtn, in ca i remember)
I did wonder if mel was going to give any money up/ all those profets, to a better cause them himself.
My ol lady& daughter went to see it yesterday..i dont know about my daughter yet, but she wasnt to impressed with it( overglofcation of violence& not enough aboutJesus & his real message etc. ( havent talked to them much yet)
So its kinda the wrestlmania of relgious movies?[&:]
Next the romans will be shooting sideways & jesus rapping about gay& lesbian rights.
( i guess mel at least stuck to the orginal story line.

1eyedfish I am not sure how old your daughter is, but the movie is to show people what Christ went through to pay for our sins, it is not a movie about the entirety of Christ's ministry on earth, it is about the pain, suffering, death and resurection of Christ only. It is almost impossible to understand what Christ went through for us, seeing this movie drives it home as well as it possibly can be driven home without putting yourself through it. Christ was the only one that could have went through this, no mere human could have endured this, only Christ, the Son of God could have endured and sacrifised himself for us.

My daughter is almost 30, but shes not the one i talked too.
The person i talked to has seen many ppl die& suffer in this life, they are not a stranger to death or blood& gore.Been with more ppl in there last moments on earth, then most will see.( real life not hollywierds versions)
But i think there belives are very strong as a christain, reguardless of her opinion of a hollywood remake.Unlike mine . I dont think dobly delux sterio& super cinamacolor will change my ideas much do you?... so no i dont see yer point bring it home? Can holly weird make a movie about a possible past event more real - then what happens in reality on this earth already?( dont you remember those bbqd corpes sitting in the cars arfter the la riots, the stoning of reggie denny) civil unrest , media inspired rage- Some ppl do think roots was a documantary too.
Last time i went to a movie( after about 10 yrs) the thing was wayway to LOUD& to large the screen it was not injoyable.

Exactly. Fights occur outside of movie theatres. People have had heart attacks before while watching a movie. However, if it happens during "The Passion of the Christ," then it is implied that this movie is to blame for it happening.
One other thing. . .Mel Gibson made this movie because he felt called to do it. If he had thought it would make NO money, he still would have made it. The fact that it's setting box office records all over the U.S. and had been #1 since it opened should show the Hollywood crowd that the Christian message DOES sell well. Mel Gibson should feel free to do whatever he wants with the money this film earned. Hollywood didn't want any part of it, so they don't deserve any reward. He footed the bill for the movie, so the consequences are his.

How does Mel Gibson figure that he has a clue as to what pain, suffering, death, and resurection "Christ" went through for your sins? Because he read about it in a book? Because someone told him this is what happend? As far as I know he wasn't there was he? I can read story books and make a movie too but that don't mean that people should take it for anything other than what it is, A MOVIE.
