Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default DVD porno in cars

Here's a real problem I never thought about. Arrest made in NY of a Mercedes owner who had a dvd porn going in plain view. Also the paper said some kid in Chicago with her parents saw a porno going at a stop light. I am a dumb old guy with no desire for TV in my truck and always thought of them as being for kid's movies. I bet this is a big problem that will get worse. Man I will lose it if I see one while driving so hope I don't. [:@]

I've seen it before. I was driving to work one morning looked over at theis hooptie (sp?) Caprice Classic driving down thre road, but he had about a 13" TV screen that was on his dash in the front and had a porno going for all to see. If this guy had gotten stuck in gridlock traffic, everybody that passed by would be able to see it in plain view.

Guys, its on for all to see on purpose. I have a feeling this is going to be a growing trend. These gangstas think its cool. How can we get someone to get a bill going, out lawing this practice.

As Barney Fife would say...
ANDY, WE'VE GOT TO NIP IT...NIP..IT...IN... THE... BUD!

Glen, where did you see that article? I want to take action on this.

I found the ARTICLE you may want to put it in your post.

I contacted my state representative. (I knew he was very conservative) I learned there is currently a bill in process in Missouri concerning this issue. If you are concerned about this matter, I would recommend that you do the same. See the email I received as a follow up to a discussion with the legislative assistant.

Mr. Lingner,

The bill I was telling you about is HB1135. This is the bill's summary
(the actual bill isn't much longer):

This bill creates the crime of displaying an adult film in a
motor vehicle, a class D felony. The crime is committed when a
person operating a motor vehicle allows the displaying of an
adult film within the vehicle in a manner which enables a child
to view any part of the film.

It has been assigned to the Transportation and Motor Vehicle Committee
and Rep. Rector happens to be a member of that committee. It has not been
scheduled for a public hearing. Unless it gets amended with some bizarre
amendment, Rep. Rector will vote for it to pass out of committee. At that point
it would be up to the Speaker of the House to assign it to the House Floor
Calendar for debate among the whole House membership.

Rep. Rector appreciates your concern on this issue of protecting
children from harmful influences.

Rep. Rector would like to know if he can add your e-mail address to his
constituent e-mail list.

Sincerely,
Jim Langford
Legislative Assistant
Rep. Rector, Dist. 124

Thanks for the post Glen.

Dave

I thought it was illegal to have these screens in the front seat? Thought only allowed for backseat riders......

You'd think that they would be more concerned with the safety issues than whether or not some kid might see the flick . Geez ! []
