Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Davy Crockett on charity (welfare)

Davy Crockett served in Congress from 1827 to 1835 and then retired due to his disgust with the refusal of members of Congress to heed the Constitution. (Sound familiar?) He hoped to start over with a new country (Texas) when he died fighting for its independence from Mexico, at the Alamo, in 1836. (I would fight in such a battle today)

Read the powerful story of Davy Crockett and his thoughts on Charity. (Welfare)

SOCKDOLAGER - A Tale of Davy Crockett

It is a little long but worth the read. Would like to hear your comments.

Great read! It would do us all well if all Americans read our Constitution once a year, and all of those in public office at least twice yearly!

I am impressed! That was a long article and you guys stuck it out! It was well worth it wasn't it. It is one of the most powerful stories I have ever read. DAVY WHERE ARE YOU WHEN WE NEED YOU?

It is interesting, he quit congress because folks were'nt going by the book...(constitution).
Man, if he was only alive now... whew, he'd be going bonkers.

This is the pity of it all. Congress in their debates should be discussing a bills constitutionality pertaining to it's passage. I wonder if the subject even comes up any more.

Our gov't is so partisan now... on both sides.

Put everything in context, this was NOTHING compared to James Madison's rantings at giving some frenchies money.

Perhaps in this country we have lost the mindset of the founders and their time.

You can no longer live a subsistance living and expect to be treated like a man on the street - rather you will be killed by some other crap bag out there.

We do not have a homogeneous population where all are treated fairly, you can be denied based upon almost anything (especiallyby te federal goobermint) some are living on a whim and prayer now.

The world that you fashion as being valid today is a pipe dream. The only way we can achieve the ideals of our forefathers is through no less than 10 years of brutal fascism.

Most industries that have survived in the U.S. did so by shear will. NO ONE in industry cannot be replaced by a machine except for higher level positions such as surgeon etc. (even that is happening).

The only company that I know of that refuses to send work to china or india etc. is S.C. Johnson wax.

Other than that... BYE BYE... !!!!!

No matter what your training, you'll have to learn to fight eventually. Cause you're going down.

fng, We are so far from our founders it isn't even funny. It seems our pride is costing us alot of money. We are trying to save the world, as things fall apart here. I am very concerned about our future to say the least.

Hip, that is cool! I sell Davy Crockett coon sikn caps on my website for kids to wear. To inspire them to be adventurous. You ought to kill you a coon and make one yourself. Do you have children? If so, I would use that awesome family heritage to inspire them to the same level of greatness as old Davy.
